Chapter 317: Dany Is About to Break the Game!

Dahei was in a miserable state. Not only was the meditative vortex within his soul space spinning sluggishly, but many illusory holes had also appeared. In reality, his physical body suffered severe damage as well—despite not having any visible wounds, blood flowed from his seven orifices, and his body had become significantly weaker.

His blood-red dragon eyes, each as large as a wine cup, had lost their luster. His wide wings and powerful hind legs could no longer support his body, making him look like a debauched man drained of all his energy and spirit.

"Dahei, lie down and rest for a bit first," Dany said, rushing over to support his large dragon head as he staggered to his feet and then toppled over again, breaking an apple tree in the process.

"Hss-gah—" Dahei let out a feeble cry before collapsing onto the rotting leaves and closing his eyes to meditate.

The sky was a dim cobalt blue. Dany exhaled white mist from her mouth and carefully searched through the forest, stepping through the soft, decaying mud, sometimes sinking deep with each step. After much effort, she finally found a dead crow perched on a branch of a tree with two shriveled, rotting apples.

"What a big crow. I wonder if the greenseer is dead," she muttered, turning the bird over and inspecting it.

It was as large as a wild duck, still faintly warm to the touch, with blood oozing from its beak, eyes, and nostrils. There was no third eye on its forehead.

Even the Six-Skinned Men had five animal companions; Dany didn't believe the greenseer only had one crow.

According to the final season of Game of Thrones, Bran seemed to inherit thousands of crows from the old white-bearded man.

"How did such a big crow get into my consciousness?" Dany puzzled aloud, bringing the bird close to her brow. She could still smell the faint odor of poultry droppings, like a chicken coop.

It was undoubtedly real—a crow that needed to eat, drink, and defecate.

"Hss-gah, hss-gah, hss-gah—" Suddenly, Xiaobai poked his head over and began crying out anxiously.

"What's wrong? Not adjusting well to the new vortex of sorcery?" Dany asked, dropping the crow and placing a hand on his forehead with concern.

"Hss-gah, hss-gah, hss-gah—" Xiaobai bumped his head against hers, accidentally hitting her nose, causing tears to stream from her eyes in pain.

"Easy, easy—what are you trying to say?" she muttered through clenched teeth, turning her head to the side and holding her nose.

"Hss-gah—boom!" Xiaobai thrashed his head about in agitation and even spewed a blast of dragonfire at a nearby fruit tree.

Now Dany was truly alarmed. She realized something must be seriously wrong with Xiaobai.

"Sigh, let me try using Dragon Spirit—" The moment the thought formed, she instantly connected with Xiaobai, and a massive nine-colored vortex came crashing toward her soul space like a tidal wave. It was as if it had been waiting just outside, ready for her to link with his dragon spirit.

"Don't panic! Don't merge too deeply with me!" Dany exclaimed in shock, quickly trying to calm him down. She didn't want Xiaobai to end up like the weakened Dahei.

But her concern proved unnecessary. Xiaobai's nine-colored vortex hadn't fully formed—only one-third of it was solid, while the remaining two-thirds were still illusory.

"You—" Dany's expression changed as she looked at him with a mix of disappointment and frustration. "How are you this dumb? You can't even copy the answers properly!"

"Hss-gah—" In the soul space, Xiaobai's golden eyes were full of grievance.

Then, a mental wave accompanied his cry: Come to my sea of consciousness.

The next moment, Dany and Xiaobai arrived in a lava-like space filled with dark red light above and below.

Wisps of pale gray smoke slithered like snakes from the sky, the ground, and all directions, converging at the center of the space to form a crow with outstretched wings.

"Seven Gods above— the greenseer isn't completely dead?!" Dany cried out in alarm, instantly leaping onto Xiaobai's back in preparation for another fight.

But as they approached, she noticed something strange. The crow wasn't a soul—it was a spell sigil.

Just like how Valyrian sorcerers' meditation runes would manifest as nine-colored spiral vortices, fire mages' runes became flames, moon-singers' turned into a silver moon, and shadowbinders' into shadows coiling around a bonfire—Xiaobai's pale crow was also a manifestation of a meditation technique.

"Shit… this is the foundation of the greenseer's meditation!" Dany cried out in realization.

"No wonder—no wonder Xiaobai went berserk. He already had a broken meditation method in his mind, and now he tried to copy another one from me. But meditation is the foundation of sorcery—like a house, it can only have one foundation."

"No wonder—no wonder the greenseer's soul is immortal. No wonder he can control dragons." Dany rubbed her chin, deep in thought.

"Normal meditation runes can only exist in stable combinations. Like the nine-colored vortex—it can only appear as a whole. If broken, sorcery collapses.

"But the greenseer's meditation is different. Not only can it be assembled and disassembled at will, each rune also fuses perfectly with the soul's essence—they coexist and depend on each other.

"As long as the core rune remains, the soul can be shattered and still reform itself just like the rune—nearly immortal."

"What's more terrifying is that the greenseer's runes not only integrate with his own soul but can also accept animal companions' souls without any rejection.

"All this time, those runes had been hidden deep within Xiaobai's soul sea…"

At that thought, Dany shuddered. The greenseer's soul resilience was terrifying. If she hadn't persisted in studying the "Soul Imbuement" skill all along, she might have—

Then she let out a breath of relief. As long as she could enter Dragon Spirit mode, the greenseer would never be able to control Xiaobai.

"Now, the greenseer's soul has been converted into spirit matter, leaving only a hollow shell of meditation runes. What should I do with this 'corpse of a meditation technique'?"

If Xiaobai hadn't developed his own nine-colored vortex, this whole affair might've gone unnoticed. She might never have discovered it at all.

Learning a meditation method also requires talent—otherwise, everyone could become a greenseer, and the trials of the grand sorcerer legacy would lose all meaning.

Dragons are perfectly compatible with Valyrian meditation because Valyrian blood magic was originally founded by mimicking dragon magic as a base for meditation.

But dragons aren't suited for the greenseer path. Perhaps after a year or so, those ownerless runes would simply fade away on their own, having no lasting effect on Xiaobai.

It just so happened that he had copied the Nine-Colored Vortex.

"I wonder if I can learn the meditation technique of the Green Seer," Dany had to admit—she was envious of the Three-Eyed Crow's abilities.

The soul is immortal, thoughts can split into thousands, and it can control thousands of crows.

Well, Dany wasn't that ambitious; she'd be satisfied if she could just connect with the minds of five dragons at once.

Unable to resist the urge, she began experimenting.

First, a person can only have one meditation technique, and no one can change that. She wouldn't abandon the foundation of the Grand Sorcerer's meditation method.

Second, meditation techniques can evolve. As Tamm said, aside from the Creator God, no one is omniscient or omnipotent—not even the meditation technique created by R'hllor is perfect.

Which means, the so-called "flawless" Grand Sorcerer's meditation technique still has great room for improvement.

Finally, she had a little trick to avoid conflicts between meditation technique runes—she could store her Nine-Colored Vortex in Big Black.

"Big Black, I'm borrowing some space." Dany chuckled, shifting both her own and Little White's Nine-Colored Vortex into Big Black's soul space, then moved the 'Light-Colored Crow' from Little White's soul sea into her own.

Then, she had Little White move his own Nine-Colored Vortex back to its original place.

That way, Little White could quietly condense the foundation of his meditation technique while Dany took on the risk of rune conflict for him.

She had an edge over Little White—greater intelligence. Neither Little White nor Big Black could condense sorcery runes.

But she could.

Just like when she had received the Grand Sorcerer's inheritance, she used the 'Light-Colored Crow' as a template, slowly analyzing the runes, then reconstructing the foundation of a new meditation technique for herself.

Clatter—

Individual dark red runes could be constructed with mental power, but the "QR-code-like" meditation symbols were composed of dozens or even hundreds of runes. As soon as they were combined, they collapsed.

As expected, she failed.

"I don't have the talent of a Green Seer," Dany sighed, though she had already mentally prepared for it.

It was like buying a lottery ticket. You hoped to win the grand prize, but if it turned out to be a dud, you wouldn't fall into despair.

She didn't believe in the Old Gods, didn't have the blood of the First Men (though House Targaryen had been in Westeros for three hundred years and had already mixed with First Men's blood), and didn't even have the talent of a skinchanger—let alone a Green Seer.

"What a shame. This was an incomplete Green Seer inheritance."

Just as Dany was about to completely dismantle the 'Light-Colored Crow', she suddenly caught sight of a pool of crimson-green spring water in the corner of her soul space.

"This..."

The soul space responded to her will. With a wave of her hand, the spring transformed into a small floating lake in front of her. She reached out to scoop up a handful of emerald-green water.

Then, something strange happened.

Her hand, fair and clean, visibly turned the lake water a light pink—as if her hand had been dipped in red dye.

But Dany didn't show the slightest surprise. She understood her soul was blending with unclaimed spiritual essence.

Previously, the spiritual essence hadn't fused with her soul and retained its original green hue. Now that Dany was actively extending her mental power into it, the unclaimed essence offered no resistance.

Perhaps because of the soul constitution born of fire and blood, Dany's soul manifested as red.

Splash!

The pink liquid in her palm fell back into the lake. Like a drop of red ink, it dyed the entire 20-meter-wide lake a pale pink within moments.

At the center of the lake, the surface bulged upward—pop!

The bulge dispersed into a petite girl with silver hair, purple eyes, and soft pink skin.

Another Dany.

"How strange. This spiritual essence clearly already belongs to me—even transformed into a part of my soul—yet it can still exist independently outside my main soul. This... is kind of like a second soul? A second spiritual self like in novels?"

The pink Dany looked around, up and down, full of amazement.

The pure essence had already been absorbed by Dany and had become part of her soul, allowing it to project her spirit body.

However, under normal circumstances, when Dany absorbed external essence to strengthen her soul, it was like a child eating meat to grow—her body would become stronger, but the new muscle would be no different from the old. You wouldn't grow a second head just because you ate a pig's head.

The newly formed soul was still part of her core being, with no distinction of before or after.

Yet the Green Seer's soul was "resilient" enough that even after transforming into spiritual essence and being absorbed by Dany, it retained some... traits?

Dany wasn't sure what traits these were, but the fact that it existed apart from her main soul was real.

Hmm, it was like she'd eaten a crow's head, and instead of just getting stronger, she'd grown a second "Dany head."

Two-headed Dany?

"Ugh!" She shivered, quickly discarding that horrible thought.

"One body, two souls. Two souls of the same origin. Does this mean I can have two meditation technique foundations? And, since this 'Little Dany Head' originated from the Green Seer's spiritual essence, then..."

Dany's eyes gleamed with excitement, eager to try.
