Third person POV
[Flashback still ongoing, but fast forward to 1 month and 10 days before Basilio woke up from his coma…]
One late afternoon, as usual after changing for the better and becoming a good creature to everyone outside of his race, Ruslan offered flowers to the those who died in his murderous attacks at the Blood Fortress obelisk. But this time, it was different because he was holding a small wooden box, which had elaborate carvings from an ancient civilization of some sorts, as well as his Blood Sword. And so, as Ruslan stepped away from the obelisk's vicinity, Chivo, who was at the Blood Fortress waiting for Basilio's wake-up from his coma, was watching him from afar and behind a pillar of the main headquarters building. And then, drowned in guilt and regret, Ruslan decided to atone for his sins by taking his own life using his Blood Sword, before planning to put his Vamzom powers into that little wooden box and pass it to Basilio just in case he would survive his coma.
And so…Ruslan did so, in front of the monument for the dead and with a strong, lethal stab to his heart with his main, magical weapon, before collapsing to the grass.
Chivo was horrified, and in time, Helena came to the scene because she was looking for her older brother.
But then, she, too, saw it, and she was as horrified as Chivo. "What the…? Big brother?!"
"Oh, no, Ruslan-san killed himself!" shouted Chivo, before he and Helena rushed to the scene.
And then, as he lay dying on the grass, Ruslan opened the wooden box and placed all of his Vamzom powers in it, before closing it and putting it aside. Then, Chivo and Helena rushed to his aid and started crying for his coming death.
"Ruslan-san!"
"Big brother, no!"
Looking at them while bleeding in his mouth, Ruslan said to them with a soft smile, "Guys…I'll be going now…Please give this box to Valencia Basilio and tell him to be the next leader of my race…and…continue my new reforms for the better…"
He then reached for his box and weakly gave it to them.
Helena got it while tearing up over his death.
"Okay…" Chivo said to the dying leader with some tears in his eyes, "…if this what you want for us and Basilio-kun, then okay…"
"Thanks…" Ruslan smiled at them one last time, before passing away and his body disintegrating into pieces of dried flesh and bones because his Vamzom powers, which gave his body a youthlike appearance, were gone, meaning that the true age of his body perhaps decades or hundreds of years old.
Because of that, Helena and Chivo cried for his death together and decided to grant his last will for him. And so, the next day, Helena, who became acting leader of the Vamzoms, announced their previous leader's passing to every Vamzom in front of the Blood Fortress Obelisk, much to their shock and sadness. Chivo, meanwhile, was holding Ruslan's box while standing next to her. The Vamzoms present there were sad and grieving for their previous leader's suicidal death and sacrifice to redeem himself from his suffering, muttering their final goodbyes for him in low voices. And then, after that, Helena announced to them that, just in case he would survive his coma, Basilio will be their next leader, much to their surprise and bewilderment.
"What? That Otherworlder youngster?" commented one of the Vamzom soldiers.
"Why him?" Artem asked.
"Why?" Timru added.
"That's because big brother had chosen him before his death…" responded Helena back briefly and calmly.
Wanting to appease the soul of their deceased leader, the Vamzoms accepted her statement and announcement, hoping that Basilio would survive and accept the position reserved and set for him and do better than him.
