Demon Torturing Session

Approaching the isolation barrier where the still star pendant lay down on the floor, a chuckle escaped my lips as I did.

"Wow, that couldn't be easier,"

It would've been a funny image if someone found me talking to a star pendant on the floor with a strange circle to keep it isolated in the barrier, but I wouldn't care less now.

The plan was successful.

Anything after that is going to be an easy ride.

"Hey, I know you're hearing me. Do you want me to explain what just happened to you now?"

The star pendant was visibly shaking as I continued to press down questions.

"It was simple really. I just tricked a dumb demon like you that's all,"

As if the demon who was now inside the star pendant didn't like what it said, the item tried to leave the isolation barrier by shooting itself in my direction.

However, he was met with an indestructible wall and the pendant went lying on the ground.

"I see. You can hear me but you can't speak. Just how unlucky are you, Sigil of Misfortune, Danath?"

Just as I thought about it, a sudden thinking also made me pause.

'If it can't speak, how am I going to interrogate this fellow?'

Coming into that dilemma made me shrug my shoulders as an answer instantly came into mind that didn't even need a second moment of thoughtful process.

'I'll just exterminate this demon out of its existence,'

That has always been the plan from the start and nothing has changed that objective until now.

'But I don't know much about exterminating the demons… I can give this to the churches that might be interested in taking care of the demon themselves but I liked to get something out of it,'

Examining the pros and cons inside my head, led to a thought that forming a connection with the churches will be beneficial even if I'm not a believer of their gods.

After all, getting their help will be a great addition to strength in a situation where these kinds of demons will just keep popping out from the open.

'But first, I have to enjoy myself,'

Torturing someone is a great expertise of mine, and it didn't matter what kind of race they came from.

Even if this is a 'demon', a new kind of race that I discovered will beg to just let them die rather than keep them alive.

"Now, I wonder what your weakness is. Forcing you to eat another potion is already out of the option since you don't have a mouth and you already see its effects… That only leaves me to a trial and error method to see it,"

The star pendant lay on the ground motionlessly, lying stalwart in what's about to come towards its existence.

It was probably thinking it was ready to who's more likely giving up from the other.

But I have nothing to lose.

On the other hand, this demon might just go crazy.

However, I've already taken that into account since I saw the mana from the star pendant still unstable, probably due to the forcing itself out from Aster in an attempt to leave the excruciating pain they are both feeling.

Now, even if the demon goes crazy, the barrier will be enough to hold him down while I continue finding a weakness for this demon.

Stretching my hand forward, I went straight into the hardest type of spell I could conjure at the moment.

"Purgatory Flames,"

In just a split second, black flames erupted inside the isolation barrier where the star pedant could be seen showering inside of its intense heat.

Rumble!

Aster's eyes shut wide open after hearing a huge tremor from his surroundings.

His mind instantly came into focus as his body sprung up on the ground to determine where the tremors were coming from nearby.

As he did, memories slowly flooded inside his head, remembering a series of images that made him faint.

The last thing that came to mind was Cillian dragging him out from the isolation barrier with his lips curling upwards.

Now, the current image Aster can perceive is Cillian stretching his hand onto the barrier where he had been once for three consecutive days.

The area inside it had turned into a freezing cold area that was filled with falling snowflakes and ice.

In the middle of the barrier was a star pendant that he wasn't familiar with at all.

"Uh, Cillian?"

Cillian glanced in his direction, eyes devoid of any emotion before a carefree smile plastered on his lips as he replied with a jolly tone.

"Yo?"

Aster remembered the time when a demon was leaving his body, feeling the exact pain as him when he was undergoing the effects of the potion.

As of the moment, Aster couldn't see the demon inside the barrier except from the freezing surrounding and the star pendant.

"By the way, thank you for doing this. You could've warned me about the pain being very painful though. I mean, it's almost like I'm about to die from it,"

Aster could see Cillian stiffening up from his place but was very subtle in doing so.

However, Aster seemed to have caught some of Cillian's quirks by being with him for a couple of days, and that action implies a lie.

'Nah, I must evaluate my image to Cillian. He isn't as bad as I thought, and that action earlier must've been related to something else,'

Leaving that thought aside and behind at the back of his mind, Aster began to probe deeper into the topic at hand.

"The demon?"

Cillian immediately replied and pointed at the barrier using his one available hand.

"Danath, the Sigil of Misfortune, is transferred into that star pendant. I've found that the demon, after transferring to that item, is weak to cold hence explains the situation inside the barrier. I've tested it out and as long as it was within a certain amount of range of cold that surrounded the item, the demon will always remain passive. Let's say the range is two to three meters. That's just about it,"

As if the line of thoughts were just as right as it sounds, Aster didn't doubt any further and raised up another important matter,

"Why haven't you killed it?"

Cillian immediately replied with a shrug.

"Simple. I can't. Well, with my current strength that is,"

Aster's brows creased.

"You know we can't leave this here, right? I'm sure you have a plan. You aren't the type of person to tackle such things knowing you're the type of a thinker yourself,"

Receiving that compliment as if that was natural to receive from him, Cillian nodded and said.

"Listen, I'm planning to involve the churches and notify them about the existence of these demons. And the star pendant is a way to form a connection with them."

Aster's head tilted slightly to the side.

"How?"

Cillian gestured an 'ok-sign' and smiled cheekily.

"We're going to sell it,"
