Bridesmaid's Destiny

"Lost in Love: A Bridesmaid's Destiny

(Part 1 – The Unexpected Reunion) "

It was a bright Tuesday morning when I woke up,, excitement bubbling in my chest. Today was the day I was flying to New York for my best friend Lily's wedding, I stretched lazily, staring at the sunlight streaming through my bedroom windows...

A soft knock on my door broke my thoughts, and my maid entered,, placing a breakfast tray on the table.,

"Good morning, Ma'am. Your mother is waiting for you downstairs,, " she said politely.

I nodded, "Okay, and please remember to knock whenever you come in."

She bowed slightly and left.. I turned back to my open suitcase,, carefully placing my favorite dresses inside, This wedding was special—I wasn't just a guest, I was Lily's bridesmaid. And that meant , I had to be there a week before the wedding to help with preparations. I zipped up my bag,, took one last look in the mirror and left my room..

As I walked down the grand staircase of our villa , my mother's eyes lit up....

"Oh my! You look absolutely stunning, my dear" she gushed, admiring my white and pink floral mini-frock.

I laughed at her words, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear.. "Mom, I'm just wearing a simple dress."

"It suits you beautifully," she insisted, then sighed dramatically. "I can't believe my daughter is leaving for a whole week."

I smiled, hugging her,. "Don't be so dramatic, Mom, You know I have to be there early for the wedding. I'm Lily's bridesmaid, after all"

She kissed my forehead. "Alright, alright. Your private helicopter is waiting for you. Now go, before I start crying."

I waved at her and headed to the rooftop, where my sleek black helicopter was parked. The pilot, a tall man in a sharp uniform, stood beside it. He nodded as I approached.

"Good morning, Miss. Let me get that for you." He took my bag and placed it inside. "Please fasten your seatbelt and wear your headphones. We take off in 15 minutes. Also, kindly switch off your phone after ten minutes."

Before shutting my phone off,, I quickly dialed Lily's number,

"I'm on my way!" I announced.

Lily's voice burst with excitement. "I can't believe it! My super busy CEO friend is actually coming early! Hurry up, we need to go dress shopping!"

I laughed. "I'll be there in four hours,. Just wait for me, babe."

After hanging up,, I settled into my seat, watching the world shrink below as the helicopter lifted into the sky....

The cityscape stretched endlessly beneath us, glittering in the morning light. But as the adrenaline of takeoff faded, my thoughts drifted elsewhere.

To Adrian...

My childhood crush, My first love, The boy who disappeared without a word....

I had tried to find him so many times, but I was foolish—, I never remembered his last name. All I had were distant memories of his laughter, his warm brown eyes,, and the way he always protected me when we were kids...

I closed my eyes, whispering a silent prayer. "Just once, God. Let me see Adrian again, even if it's just to ask him why he left without saying goodbye."

Somewhere between my wish and my exhaustion, I fell asleep.

A gentle touch on my forehead stirred me awake...

My eyes fluttered open, and for a brief moment, I thought I was dreaming.

A man stood before me....

Tall, Handsome, Mysterious.

His dark hair framed his face perfectly, and his piercing eyes—so intense,, so familiar—were locked onto mine with concern, He was close, too close, and my heart skipped a beat..

"Are you okay?" His deep,, smooth voice sent shivers down my spine.

Before I could answer, Lily's panicked voice interrupted.

"Oh my God, you're awake!! You scared me! I thought something happened to you, but Adi checked and said you were fine.."

Adi?

I tore my gaze away from the man's mesmerizing eyes and turned to Lily....

"Adi?" I echoed, confusion lacing my voice.

Lily pointed at him. "Yes! Meet Adrian—Adi for short, Mike's best friend and his best man for the wedding"

My breath caught in my throat. Adrian? No, it couldn't be., Could it?

The man smirked slightly,, as if amused by my reaction.

"Nice to meet you,, Miss Bridesmaid," he said smoothly, extending his hand toward me.

I hesitated. The name. The eyes. The way he looked at me with something unreadable in his expression....

Slowly, I shook my head, ignoring his hand. "I can manage." I got down from the helicopter on my own, my mind spinning.

Lily hugged me tightly, unaware of the storm inside me. "Let's get you settled in! Then we'll go shopping"

I barely registered her words. My eyes kept flickering to Adrian.

It had to be him. But why didn't he say anything? Did he not recognize me?

As we walked toward the hotel, Mike added casually, "Oh, by the way,, Adi is staying in the room next to yours."

My heart pounded..

I needed answers.

Was this really Adrian? And if so… had he forgotten me? Or was he hiding something?

I had a week before the wedding to find out,.

And I wasn't going to let this chance slip away.
