FALLING FOR THE UNEXPECTED

I was scrolling through my social media feeds when I saw a message from Ntsika. My heart skipped a beat as I opened it.

"Hey Lena, I hope you're doing well. I just wanted to check in and see how you're feeling about everything. I know things have been complicated lately."

I read the message over and over, trying to decipher the tone. Was he being friendly, or was there something more behind his words?

I decided to respond, trying to keep my tone light. "Hey Ntsika, thanks for checking in. I'm doing okay, just trying to figure some things out."

I hesitated before hitting send. What was I getting myself into?
