Chapter 6: The Path of Vengeance

A week had passed since Misuki's tragic death, and Xhazam had been struggling with the weight of his grief. But today, something had changed. He walked into Methi's barber shop with a determination in his step, telling Methi that he wanted to start working again. Methi was taken aback, surprised and happy all at once. He hadn't expected Xhazam to return to work so soon, but he could see that Xhazam was trying to move on, as though diving into work would help him escape the haunting pain of losing Misuki.

Deep down, however, Xhazam's heart burned with an insatiable thirst for revenge. The pain of Misuki's death hadn't lessened. It had only intensified his desire to make Pedro pay.

Later that afternoon, Pedro walked into the shop, as smug as ever, asking for a free haircut. Xhazam, still holding his anger at bay, took the clippers in hand and began cutting Pedro's hair. Pedro, smiling with his usual arrogance, spoke, "It's good to see you trying to move on, Xhazam. What can be done? She's gone. You'll have to learn to live without her. We'll find who did it." His words felt like salt on an open wound, but Xhazam stayed silent, thanking Pedro in the most controlled manner he could muster. As Pedro left, Xhazam clenched his fist in fury, his face contorting with raw anger, the need for vengeance building inside him.

Later that night, Xhazam found himself walking through the dim-lit backstreets of the city. He had made a deal with the local goons and was attempting to acquire a gun. The streets were quiet, but Xhazam's thoughts were anything but. He knew what he was about to do. He wasn't just going to sit by anymore. He was going to find Pedro, and he would make him pay for what he did to Misuki.

In the following days, Xhazam began shadowing Pedro. He trailed him through the streets, trying to figure out his every move. Pedro, ever the opportunist, seemed to sense something was off. He noticed Xhazam's movements, his careful following, and he smirked to himself, knowing full well why Xhazam was following him. Pedro knew Xhazam had come to find out the truth behind Misuki's death.

One night, Xhazam followed Pedro for hours, trying to map out his routine, studying his habits, searching for the perfect time to strike. But as he followed Pedro down an isolated street, something extraordinary happened. In the middle of the road, without warning, Pedro seemed to vanish into thin air. Xhazam stood frozen, his eyes wide in disbelief. He had just witnessed something impossible. Pedro was gone—like smoke dissipating in the wind. For a moment, Xhazam couldn't comprehend what had happened, his mind racing to make sense of what he had just seen.

Xhazam returned to his room, his mind racing with what had just happened. He sat down on the bed, attempting to calm himself. The image of Pedro vanishing into thin air still lingered in his mind, making it hard for him to believe what he had just witnessed. But there was no time for hesitation. Xhazam knew it was now or never. He had to act—his thirst for revenge couldn't wait any longer.

Meanwhile, Pedro arrived at a luxurious villa, where two men ushered him inside. They led him to the top room, where a man sat—young, elegant, and in his thirties. Pedro showed the utmost respect by bowing before him. The man spoke, asking why Pedro had been late and how things were progressing. Pedro replied, "Everything is going well, sir. I was late because something unexpected happened."

The man stood up suddenly, his presence commanding. In an instant, he appeared right in front of Pedro. Startled, Pedro froze. The man placed a hand on Pedro's shoulder and, with a cold, authoritative tone, said, "Make sure the deal is completed within two days." Pedro nodded nervously, "Yes, sir. Don't worry, Shasa-sir. I will do it."

The next day, Pedro was at the police station, his usual smug demeanor intact, when he noticed Xhazam standing outside, watching him. In that moment, Pedro knew that today would be the day he would finally put an end to the barber's pursuit. He intentionally let Xhazam follow him, leading him to a secluded backyard. It was the perfect place for Xhazam to make his move.

Xhazam, filled with rage and focused on his one goal—revenge—decided that this was his chance. He didn't care about the consequences of killing a police officer; all that mattered was avenging Misuki. He stepped closer, determined to eliminate Pedro once and for all.

As Xhazam approached, Pedro turned around and mockingly said, "Your wife was very good, you know. Too bad I never got to enjoy her." These words hit Xhazam like a dagger to the heart. His anger exploded, and without thinking, he pulled the trigger. The gunfire rang out, and Pedro fell to the ground, lifeless.

Xhazam stood over him, his breath heavy, but as the adrenaline started to fade, his emotions shifted. He realized that he had done it—he had avenged Misuki. But as he looked down at Pedro's body, he felt a sense of confusion. Was this really the end? Was this the peace he had been seeking?

Then, in an instant, something impossible happened. Xhazam watched in disbelief as the bullets that had pierced Pedro's body fell out, one by one, as if they had never even entered. Pedro's wounds healed before Xhazam's very eyes. Pedro stood up, fully restored, as if the bullets had never touched him.

Xhazam was stunned, unable to comprehend what was happening. He watched in horror as Pedro, with a smirk, said, "Rest assured, I am not a vampire," and laughed. With a snap of his fingers, Xhazam was sent flying back, his body slamming into the ground, far away from Pedro. The force of the impact knocked Xhazam unconscious.
