Chapter 19: Snapped

Rey Von Esterin had come to the Awakening Ceremony with two goals in mind. His first goal was to receive a high class. His other goal was to crush the descendant of the Ashborn Family.

He thought that both of these goals were easy to achieve, especially since he was a genius. He had already completed his first goal with a successful awakening.

As for his second goal, he was looking for an opportunity, or even an excuse, to crush Elias Ashborn. The opportunity came unexpectedly as two vials fell from the sky, which Elias desired.

He didn't miss the opportunity and rushed to pick them up. He wanted to destroy Elias Ashborn. He was even more elated when he saw the crushed expression on Elias's face.

He thought it was going to be a fun year. He was going to thoroughly ruin Elias. At least that's what he thought. Then why? Why was he on the ground, lying on his back?!

He couldn't believe it, but the pain of being slammed on the ground was still fresh.

Before he could react, Elias appeared in front of him. He grabbed Rey by the throat, raised him in the air, and then slammed him against the ground.

The sound of Rey being slammed on the ground was so loud that it echoed in the ears of everyone who saw the scene.

By the time Rey came to his senses, he felt his face turn red in embarrassment. Was he really slammed on the ground by someone who looked like he didn't even have the courage to raise his voice?

"You—" he exclaimed, but before he could even utter another word, a fist connected with his face.

Even after slamming him on the ground, Elias didn't stop. It was as if he had completely snapped. One after another, punches kept landing on Rey's face.

His face had even started bleeding. Even Elias's fist wasn't unharmed, as the flesh on his knuckles had also started bleeding, but he didn't stop.

He didn't care about the pain or anything. He had bones that were reinforced by the dragons, which made his punches even stronger.

Only a short moment had passed before Rey's entire face was covered in blood. Some of the blood splashed even landed on Elias' face, who didn't even bother to wipe them.

Everyone who saw the scene was left watching in silence. They had assumed that the youngest son of the Ashborn Family was a weak sheep that was born in a family of strong wolves. Only now, they were realizing that he was not a sheep but a bloody hound.

With the fourth son of the Ashborn Family, they thought that the Ashborns were becoming less bloodthirsty and crazy. They were realizing that the fourth son was more of an outlier.

The youngsters who didn't come from the major family, were even more scared of the youngest son of the Ashborn Family. They were even worried if Elias was going to take revenge on them because they didn't help when he needed it.

Their hearts had started beating faster, watching the fate of Rey Von Esterin. If even the descendants of the Esterin Family weren't safe, then what about them?

Only the descendants of the other major families were watching the scene in amusement, not having even the slightest trace of fear on their faces.

They were simply observing Elias, trying to guess what kind of class he might have gained. Was it a class that strengthened his body? Normally, classes like these were strong at the start but in the later stages, they were considered one of the weakest classes.

Rey had momentarily been overwhelmed by Elias' attack. He was punched again and again, until even his nose was broken.

For the first time in his life, he felt that he might actually die. He had to do something! He had to use his class to fight back, since Elias was doing the same in his eyes.

A wind blast originated in his palm, which he shot at Elias. The wind blast crashed against Elias' chest, sending him flying back.

"I will kill you!" Rey stood up, spitting a mouthful of blood. A few of his teeth were also spat out amidst that blood.

He used his robe to wipe the blood off his face, at least enough so he could see things thoroughly.

Elias was attacked by the wind blast, which had sent him flying back. Normally, an attack like that, if made from such close proximity was enough to kill a person, shattering all their bones.

Rey was surprised to see Elias still standing. His clothes were torn, revealing his bloody chest. But it didn't look like any of his bones were shattered, as he was standing straight.

Although he was surprised, it didn't make him hesitate. Initially, he only wanted to teach Elias a small lesson in the awakening ceremony, saving the best for later. But now, he had changed his mind.

Elias had thrashed him in front of everyone. He could only wash that shame with Elias' blood.

Both of Elias' fists were clenched, as he still stared at Rey Von Esterin, with no intention of holding back either.

Many descendants of major families were looking at the scene like vultures. For them, it didn't matter who suffered. As long as the two families went to war, they were going to grow even weaker after the war. It was certainly only to benefit their families.

"Finally, this is going to be fun. No matter which of them dies, it will get interesting. It is even better if both of them die. Their families might really go to a war, just like last time! And this time, it probably won't end with only a few thousand deaths!"

There were many who were watching winds starting to condense on Rey's palms. The more condensed they were, the more dangerous it became as an attack.

The silence before the storm was over with Rey shooting out multiple wind blasts. Elias also started running towards Rey.
