Chapter 67: Most Significant Memory

"What would you say if I told you that I could give you the ability to move?" Elias asked the ego, who still didn't know his true identity or abilities.

Elias knew that the chances of extraction were low, even if not non-existent. If he failed, the ego would be destroyed, and so would his hope, for now.

The sword didn't simply have an ego; it was an ego that had known Aliath. Its value was beyond that of a simple ego. Still, he knew that he had to do it. He didn't have any room to feel regret or guilt about it.

"If only." The Ego didn't sound particularly enthusiastic, as it knew the reality. It was an ego. Even if it had intelligence, it wasn't truly alive.

Elias stepped back with the sword, getting away from the fighter jet so as not to get it caught in the storm that was going to be born during extraction.
