"Is that...?" Elias didn't watch the scene until the end, and turned to Astralious. He had seen enough things like this to understand what was happening to the people who were praying to him.
"Why are you surprised? Isn't that what you people do best?" Astralious asked in return, raising his head. His eyes shifted to the portals, where the people who treated him like a deity and prayed to him were being slaughtered.
"It seems to be the memory of the day that started it all." The memories of that day were still fresh in Astralious's mind. After all, if not for this day, then everything would have been so different for him.
"If I hadn't gotten involved that day, then I would still be alive. But I couldn't hold back. As a Constellation, if I couldn't even save the last few people who worshipped me, then what was the point of being a god?"
