The sun rose brightly that Sunday morning, casting a warm glow over the vibrant green hills surrounding Lohita. It was a day of celebration, a day for my mother, Mahima, whom I cherished deeply. Today was her birthday, and I was determined to make it unforgettable.
After preparing a simple breakfast for us, I rushed to her room, bursting in with a wide grin. "Happy Birthday, Mom!" I sang, holding up a brightly wrapped gift as Aladdin pranced around my feet, playfully batting at the ribbons hanging from the box.
"Aw, Aryan! You're so sweet!" she exclaimed, her face lighting up with joy as she took a moment to appreciate the gesture.
"Open it, open it!" I urged, my excitement contagious, and Aladdin seemed to share in it, weaving between our legs.
With delicate fingers, she unwrapped the gift to reveal the beautiful destiny thread bracelet I had picked out during my recent trip to Bhagyam. Its sparkling beads reflected the sunlight, each one a wish for her happiness and health. "Oh, Aryan, this is lovely! Thank you so much!" she exclaimed, pulling me into a warm embrace.
After I'd gifted her my present, we prepared for our outing to the nearby hill, where we planned to celebrate with a barbeque and some fun activities. Mukund joined us, along with two of my mother's colleagues, excited to celebrate together.
The ride to the hills was filled with laughter and chatter, with Aladdin cuddled up in my lap, purring contentedly. He watched the world outside with wide eyes, soaking in all the new sights—the trees rushing by, the distant birds soaring, and the sunlight casting moving patterns through the window.
As we reached our destination, the beauty of nature enveloped us. We set up the barbecue near a fantastic viewpoint, where the lush landscape sprawled before us like an emerald tapestry, stretching far to the horizon.
"I can't believe how lovely it is here!" one of Mom's colleagues said, taking in the breathtaking view while setting up her picnic basket.
"Yes! This was a great idea, Aryan," Mom said, beaming with pride. I felt a warmth in my chest; her happiness was worth every ounce of effort.
While the grill sizzled with delicious fragrances, Aladdin became the undeniable star of the gathering. His playful antics drew both laughter and endearment from everyone around. He chased after butterflies, leaping through patches of wildflowers, much to the amusement of my mother's colleagues.
"Look at him go!" Mukund shouted, pointing as Aladdin tackled the tallest butterfly in a heroic leap that ended in an adorable tumble, leaving him momentarily dazed yet determined.
The day unfolded with fun activities—a gentle hike up the trail, where we marveled at the colorful flora and fauna, and games to lift our spirits. Aladdin, ever the entertainer, joined our frisbee tossing, darting after the disc with such zest that I couldn't help but laugh until my sides hurt.
Finally, as the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a golden glow over everything, it was time for the main course cake cutting. We all gathered around as I wheeled out the cake adorned with delicate frosting flowers, when Mom leaned down to pet Aladdin, who was contently languishing at her feet.
"Happy Birthday, Mahima!" everyone chimed in unison, and I stepped forward, beaming with pride as I presented the cake.
"Make a wish!" I said, encouraging her to blow out the candles that flickered brightly, illuminating her face with an ethereal glow.
As Mom closed her eyes in concentration, a hush fell over the gathering. The moment was perfect, charged with love and aspirations floating in the air. A couple of seconds later, she leaned over and blew out the candles, erupting into cheers from everyone.
Amid the celebration, as we cut the cake, Aladdin seized the opportunity to entertain us further. He leapt onto the picnic table, swiping a cake crumb that had fallen, only to be greeted with mock gasps of faux outrage. "Aladdin! No cake for you!" I laughed as I gently fished him off, only to have him dart back and knock over a plastic cup, sending it sailing through the air in an explosion of laughter.
Mom laughed heartily, clearly in her element, surrounded by friends, food, and our kitten's playful chaos. "Best birthday ever," she said through her laughter, her eyes sparkling with joy.
As we shared slices of cake, everyone basked in the happiness of the moment. With the evening light softening around us, we traded stories, laughter, and wishes for the future. Aladdin, now a roguish little heartthrob, jumped from lap to lap, accepting gentle scratches and playful pats from all, earning every bit of attention he gathered.
At the end of the day, as we packed up and headed back, as we got down the the hill and prepared to go to our houses, my mom's colleague Isha gave me a small packet of catnip, saying that her cat had already gotten over with this, and she also taught how much amount should be give according to the age, lightly stroking Aladdin.
As i got into home with aladdin and mom, feeling very happy remembering the whole day, i played mom's favourite movie and had her hold aladdin to watch and enjoy, and i myself ran to kitchen and started preparing mom's favourite dish which has five main ingredients in it one of which also came from planet RACHET, it was costly but not much, so i bought them yesterday to prepare for today.
In the kitchen, I was a flurry of movement, determined to prepare my mom's favorite dish, cradomet. This particular recipe had been passed down and upgrade according to different planets through generations, and its five main ingredients harmoniously blended flavors and textures, creating a comforting meal that my mother cherished. One of the ingredients, a rare spice sourced from planet Rachet, added a crispy touch that elevated the dish to another level. Despite its cost, it was a small price to pay for the joy it brought to my mother.
Once the dish was ready, the aroma wafted through the house, drawing my mom's attention away from the screen. "What is that delightful smell?" she asked, her eyes sparkling with curiosity and delight. I placed the freshly prepared cradomet on the dining table, ensuring it was presented beautifully. "Just a little something special for you," I replied with a grin, feeling a swell of pride for putting in the effort.
After enjoying the comforting meal together, we shared moments of laughter and conversation, rekindling the bond that had been stretched over the past couple of years. As mom finished her portion, her eyes held a mixture of appreciation and love, making every minute spent in the kitchen worthwhile. Satisfied and happy, she decided it was time to retire for the night, yawning softly. "Thank you, Aryan. This has been one of the best days I've had in a long time," she said, before heading off to bed.
With Aladdin still buzzing with leftover energy from the day, I turned my attention to the small packet of catnip Isha had gifted me earlier. Following the instructions she'd given me, I diluted a small amount of the catnip in water, ensuring it was tailored perfectly for Aladdin's age and size. When I placed the mixture in front of him, he approached curiously, sniffing the fragrant concoction. Hesitantly, he took a tentative sip, then, encouraged by the delightful aroma, he began to lap it up eagerly, bringing a smile to my face. Watching Aladdin enjoy the catnip was the perfect cherry.
Then i slept soundly forgetting all my worries.
