After what happened in the Terror Zone, Matilda and Vorden's approach toward Elon had become very cold. It was still clear that they hadn't recovered from the shock of seeing him kill three men at once with a small, strange weapon that released a ghostly item, which ended up digging a tiny hole in their foreheads.
They all decided to sprint past the rest of the Terror Zone land before they were attacked by another group, so no one had the chance to question Elon at that moment. Although Elon knew he would be questioned later on, that was the least of his concerns at that point.
After digesting the reality of the kind of characters Matilda and Vorden were, he heaved a sigh and nodded.
'Matilda Haas is somehow a key character in the novel, which is why I gained 50 Approval Points from her. Vorden Acot, who didn't even appear in the novel, had to spare ten Approval Points because he is an Extra, just like me.'
Elon bit his lips upon that realization. This really meant that Vorden must have been one of the Extras who had fought for the Summoning System, but unfortunately, he was just the one who won over a very strong man with powerful magic and a great reputation...
'The former Elon was only a nobody...'
'So why was he chosen over such a person?'
Elon had to consider the fact that luck was truly on his side after a long period of pondering, so he shrugged. Right now, he had to prepare himself for the expected chaos unfolding in Salvador.
He knew that this was the period when the war was already coming to an end. If he judged correctly, today should be the day Aiden, the protagonist of the novel, was captured and taken to the world of the Negators, the location of which was unknown to anyone.
In the novel, the author stated that the people of Salvador called this world "The Abyss," and humans who were taken there were enslaved for many years. Sometimes, a human with potential talent could even end up mutating to become a Negator.
This was one of the reasons Elon was in such a hurry to save Aiden before he was captured. He knew that Aiden would be of great help if he stayed by his side in this new era, and he wasn't going to let that chance slip away.

**[You can always reload your bullets when exhausted. 1 Key can help reload the magazine of any Firearm... For Heavy Arms, the amount varies.]**
---
"Great enough, at least using just a key wouldn't be consuming," Elon smiled.
After understanding more about the summoning of the arms and the reloads, he went ahead to complete the summon of an AK-47.
---
**[You have ordered an AK-47 rifle for 25 Keys. You have 35 Keys left. Summoning in progress...]**
**[AK-47 rifle summoning successful]**
---
Elon couldn't help but smile the moment an AK-47 materialized in front of him. Matilda and Vorden were ahead, so they didn't notice anything as the materialization made no sound. The two were busy inspecting the surroundings to prevent any other heedless attacks.
He grabbed the AK-47, feeling its coldness. He remembered when the soldiers he was fighting with in the world war opened fire against some Russians one day in the countryside.
The sound of gunshots from an AK-47 was something that could drive someone crazy. Regardless of the fact that it was very loud, it was one of the fastest-shooting firearms available.
When you are in the middle of a war, almost only the AK-47 can save you from getting killed... Or should he say it increases the chance of killing many enemies?
That day ended up being a tragedy anyway, as they lost up to thirty-six men. It was the same day he lost his best friend, Karl, who was gunned down in the crossfire.
Elon didn't want to dwell on that memory at this moment.
He quickly slung the AK-47 over his shoulder with a belt.
Fortunately for them, they didn't encounter any more issues until they reached the Midlands Hills.
The Midlands Hills, as it was called, was a general name for a certain area in the Empire of Althera and the entire Green Continent. The Kingdom of Salvador, Kingdom of Thera, Kingdom of Uper, Kingdom of Keth, and the Great Nexon Dynasty were the kingdoms in the Midlands Hills, not to mention the dependent and independent villages, forts, and towns that still occupied some parts of the land.
Due to the Midlands Hills being a vast expanse, these kingdoms controlled a lot of land that could even match the size of a state in the United States, as the author had stated. However, out of these kingdoms, Kingdom Salvador had unfortunately turned out to be the poorest and weakest.
If Aiden hadn't come from this kingdom, there was actually nothing they would be remembered for...
That was why the Negators started their retribution there, but in truth, no one knew their main goal was to take over the entire world of Edon.
...
"Son, I need you to tell me what that thing is," Matilda approached Elon with her horse and asked.
"It's just something I saw a few days ago. It's no big deal," Elon said, smiling.
"What do you mean by 'It's no big deal,' Elon?" Matilda was shaken by another strange statement, which made her flinch. She knew that a slip of the tongue couldn't happen twice in a row. After all, he was so fluent when saying it.
"Well, mother. I'll meet you both inside the walls..."
Elon said with a serious look and dashed toward the already visible wooden walls of Salvador.
If he stayed back and conversed, he knew he would miss something important. He had no leads on what was going on, so he had to use his time wisely.
Using the author's clear description of the battlefield's location, Elon urged his horse to charge forward...
He could already hear the sounds of beams and clanging swords, along with great war cries that echoed loudly.
'The war is still on!' He shouted inwardly, urging the horse to go faster.
When they were close enough, he dismounted and completed the approach on foot.
The Salvadoran battlefield was soaked in red, with countless dead bodies of mages and only a few Negators.
'The author stated that only sixteen out of thousands of Negators were killed, and the mages... AHH, why can't I remember the figures?' Elon tried to recall, but he wasn't sure of the numbers that had flashed in his mind, so he decided to forget them.
He glanced around, observing the chaos, then positioned the AK-47 at one of the Negators... It was the right time to see if guns could actually take them down, and to decide if he should flee for his life or fight for his people.
TAR! TAR!
Two gunshots echoed across the battlefield, but almost no one noticed due to their focus on the battle.
TAR! TAR! TAR!
More gunshots rang out, and still, only a few took notice, mostly the enemies themselves.
However, Elon was distracted by no one. He quickly spotted a man on the side of the battlefield who appeared familiar through the author's description.
White short hair, fair skin, a sturdy physique, dressed in black shiny armor.
'The King's knight!'
Elon quickly approached with a blank expression, and it was clear this man was about to lose his life.
He was singlehandedly battling two Negators at once, but it was already visibly overwhelming.
Elon had to intervene.
TAR! TAR!
TAR! TAR! TAR!
The middle-aged knight suddenly saw the Negators fall to their deaths after the strange sound echoed four times. His eyes widened. Turning to the right, he saw a young man approaching him.
"Wh... who are you?" The man asked.
However, Elon replied with another question.
"Where is Aiden?" He asked.
"Huh...? Aiden...? Aiden is fighting the leader of the enemies somewhere there!" The man pointed to the left.
Elon nodded and started walking toward that direction. However, the same man he just saved called him back at once.
"Are you here to save Aiden?! The king... the king is dead, and his four sons too...! They're all dead!"
Elon, surprisingly, simply shrugged and spoke...
"I know."
... almost without concern.
After all, that was what happened in the novel.
