"Hehe… Mei's cooking, and Shu's Manchu Han Imperial Feast!!" Kiana floated in the air, looking down to see an endless array of delicious food.
A huge round table was placed right in the middle, surrounded by countless dishes that made Kiana's mouth water just by looking at them.
Taking a deep breath, Kiana felt countless aromas flood her mind, and she could already taste the flavors in her mouth.
A pair of chopsticks flew in the air, landing perfectly in Kiana's hand. Kiana had also floated to the table, and with a casual wave of her hand, a roasted suckling pig, crispy and fragrant, obediently floated from the plate and to Kiana's front.
Kiana picked up the roasted suckling pig with her chopsticks, swallowed hard, then opened her mouth without hesitation.
"Let's dig in!! Nom nom!!" Kiana took a bite, biting into something solid. Hmm, it's a bit chewy… Kiana grinded her teeth, but still couldn't bite off the piece of meat.
Kiana opened her eyes in confusion.
She saw Shu's eyes wide with anger and a distorted expression of pain.
Kiana turned her eyes. Beside her, Mei and Bronya, who had already gotten out of bed, were also staring at her in shock, their faces full of surprise.
Kiana's confused mind paused for a moment, and her gaze slowly lowered to the "pork" in her mouth.
It was Shu's arm.
Shu: "..."
Bronya: "..."
Mei: "Kiana, you..."
Kiana felt her brain explode. She subconsciously released her mouth, frantically got out of bed, and quickly retreated to the edge of the bed.
"I'm sorry!!" Kiana quickly adjusted her posture and slammed her head onto the soft mattress, bowing to Shu.
Shu: "..." The scream that was about to reach his lips was forced back again…
Although he knew what was going on, he wasn't actually bitten to death! Why do you have to bow to me like that!
Shu ignored Kiana's completely non-standard "dogeza" [a Japanese term for bowing on the ground as an apology], simply rubbing the wound on his hand and quickly said, "Kiana, Mei, don't worry about anything else! Get up quickly! I saw the Honkai beast coming our way!!"
"Ah?" Kiana looked up, her face full of confusion. Mei pulled Kiana up and nodded to Shu. "The Principal and Himeko are next door. Should I go get them?"
Shu had already retreated to the door. "No, Kiana and I can go. Mei, you and Bronya go take care of Fu Hua. We need to get out of here!"
"Kiana!" Shu said sternly. Kiana shuddered, quickly got up from the floor, and, without putting on her slippers, ran to Shu's side barefoot.
Shu: "...We have time to put on shoes."
Kiana smiled awkwardly and scratched her head. "Oh well, your matter is more important."
Shu sighed, raised his hand and opened Theresa and Himeko's room, then rushed in. "Theresa!! Get up quickly!!"
"Ah?" The look Theresa had when she had just opened her eyes was almost identical to Kiana's. On the other hand, Himeko, who was the one who was injured, was so startled by Shu's shout that she jumped up from the bed, which sent Theresa flying and forcing her to sit up straight.
"What is it? What happened?" Himeko looked around seriously. Shu thought that it was lucky that Himeko didn't have any weapons nearby, otherwise, she might have given him a hard hit.
"A Honkai beast is coming our way and is approaching us. I estimate that it will reach us in a minute at most." Shu looked at the clock in the room. "It's probably only 40 seconds now. Kiana, you go and carry Himeko. We need to go downstairs."
Kiana nodded, took a step forward without hesitation, and picked Himeko up, carrying her horizontally in front of her, before turning and running downstairs.
"Wait, Kiana! I can-"
"Oh! It's already this time, Aunt Himeko, just listen to Shu's instructions!!"
"At least put your shoes on!"
Shu watched Kiana rush off with Himeko. He suddenly felt a throbbing pain in the bite mark on his arm.
Shu took a second to look at the bite mark on his arm. Good heavens, it's in the same place as the zombie's bite mark. Shu couldn't help but spend another second rubbing his arm hard to reduce the bite's presence.
"Theresa, it's time for us to go too." Shu turned around. Theresa had already reacted and was frantically putting on her shoes. In less than two seconds, she was at the door.
"We should go fi-...Hey! Don't pull me! I'm not injured!" Shu was about to say that there were bicycles downstairs, but Theresa jumped at him, grabbing his collar and forcing him to bend over to match her height. The two of them rushed out of the convenience store together.
As Shu rushed out of the convenience store, Mei, Bronya, and Fu Hua had already pushed all the bicycles into the middle of the road. Himeko was standing next to a bicycle, slightly bent over, holding her abdomen, looking at Kiana with a pale face.
And what about Kiana? She was frantically putting on her shoes.
A slight vibration came from the ground, and Shu couldn't help but frown.
He had seen clearly that the Honkai beast that was chasing him was the same armored-class Honkai beast. But with such a huge size and the fact that it wasn't slow, how did it manage to sneak up on him quietly several times?
Shu silently straddled the bicycle. At this moment, the ground suddenly shook, then fell into silence for a moment.
Shu couldn't suppress his damned curiosity. Not only did he not pedal, he even dared to look back to see what was happening.
Then, he saw a massive white monster, like a mountain, suddenly drop from the sky, smashing down and destroying half of the convenience store.
You actually jumped here?!
Shu's eyes almost popped out of his sockets. He didn't hesitate to step down on the bicycle pedal, and rushed out.
"Run for your lives!!" Kiana rode her bicycle at the very front, moving so fast that Shu swallowed all the words back down his throat.
How are you already about to leave the alleyway?!
"Skreeee-!!" However, when Kiana reached the alleyway entrance, she suddenly slammed on the brakes. She skidded forward with her bike for almost ten meters, leaving two black skid marks on the ground before she stopped and stared at the back in shock.
"Huh?! Otto?!" Kiana stared in shock at Otto, who was leaning against the street corner, "Aren't you... Wait, why are you here?!!"
