Let's Do This! I Play to...

Afternoon, the sun just past its most scorching peak.

A "Chariot"-class Honkai beast stood silently in the middle of the street, seemingly contemplating the meaning of beastly existence.

Honkai beasts lacked instincts. Since their birth, they wouldn't even patrol their territory aimlessly. They just stood there like statues, waiting for life to appear within their sensory range.

It had chased a group of humans here, and after losing their scent, it had stopped in this spot.

But now, the time-frozen Honkai beast resumed activity.

Because a human who didn't know the immensity of heaven and earth had appeared within its territory, even right in front of its face!

A beast could endure, but a Honkai beast could not!

So it started moving, each step earth-shaking, heading without hesitation towards its doom.

This was the inner monologue Shu concocted for the approaching Honkai beast as he watched it charge.

Shu knew Honkai beasts couldn't actually have such complex thoughts. He was just kindly providing voice-over to ease his own tension.

And suppressible excitement.

He felt like he could take down this Honkai beast single-handedly right here, but that would cost too much [Expectation], which Shu didn't think was worth it.

Calmly sighing amidst the tremors, Shu leisurely hopped onto a scooter.

Then launched off with a sudden burst of speed.

Shu felt like he was lifted up by the sudden acceleration. The thrill of high speed finally made Shu unable to resist turning back and shouting excitedly at the Honkai beast.

"Prepare to die!! I'll smash you to pieces and feed you to the zombies later!!"

"Woooo!"

No wonder it's a scooter from an underground gang, this speed is definitely modified!

Shu twisted the throttle to the max. The scooter actually roared like a motorcycle engine, keeping pace with the "Chariot"-class Honkai beast on the unobstructed street!

This is probably the most enjoyable chase I've had since I started running away!

Shu reminisced, even taking a moment to think about this.

Unable to resist, Shu turned back and taunted again, "Come and get me! Catch me and I'll let you heh heh heh!!"

After shouting, Shu frowned, feeling like the distance between him and the Honkai beast had narrowed considerably.

Sigh, a scooter still can't outrun a big chariot after all.

Shu sighed, looking ahead. The multi-story parking garage they'd been working on all morning was just ahead.

Even if Shu got off now and ran on foot, he could reach the parking garage before the "Chariot"-class caught up.

But Shu wasn't that reckless. He steadily rode the scooter all the way to the parking garage, executing a drift and emergency brake, making the scooter feel like a race bike.

The "Chariot"-class, eyes red like a bull, slammed into Shu.

Just before impact, Shu twisted the throttle, flying out along the wall. The "Chariot"-class, once it started charging, obviously couldn't change direction mid-charge, smashing head-on into the concrete and steel parking garage.

Already darting away, Shu turned back in surprise, staring at the hole it had smashed through. It was eerily quiet, except for two chunks of concrete from the ceiling that couldn't bear the weight and fell to the ground.

Shu frowned, confused as to why the Honkai beast had stopped moving.

But at that moment, Shu suddenly felt a tightening in his chest, an intense sense of danger emanating from inside the parking garage. Shu decisively slammed on the brakes.

Before the screech of tires faded, the deafening crash from before echoed again from Shu's front.

"BOOM—!"

Concrete shards exploded instantly, twisted steel and shattered glass shards flew past Shu's nose. Behind the shrapnel barrage was the Honkai beast, having circled around to intercept!

"You're not so dumb after all!"

Shu laughed, and in the next moment, he suddenly bent down, gripping the handlebars, actually turning the scooter 90 degrees in an instant.

The scooter fell to the ground, skidding out due to inertia, crashing into the ruins.

Shu himself ducked low, weaving through the gaps in the shrapnel, sidestepping to avoid the Honkai beast's interception, circling behind it, and continuing to run.

"Exhilarating!" Heart still pounding, Shu ran while sparing a bit of breath to shout out his feelings.

He was just too excited!

This feeling of luring the enemy into a trap step by step was just too awesome!

What? Still my enemy? Double the fun!!

"Kiana! Get ready!" Shu shouted upstairs, his excitement making him a bit talkative and mouthy, "Didn't fall and trip from the Honkai beast's tremors, did you?!"

"Of course not!" Kiana popped her head out from upstairs in the distance, glanced at Shu running for his life and the relentless earth-plowing machine behind him, then quickly ducked back in.

"Gotta aim right, gotta aim right." Upstairs, Kiana muttered to herself, having retreated. Downstairs, Shu's excited shouts and trash talk faintly carried up.

Kiana turned and got into an SUV. As she gripped the steering wheel, Kiana took a deep breath.

"I'm a genius, I'm a genius!" Kiana chanted twice, pressing the accelerator for the first time when no one was watching!

Kiana had learned to drive from Bronya for a whole morning! From identifying the accelerator, clutch, and brake to actually driving on the road, Kiana had only taken one morning!

Skillfully shifting gears, the SUV also launched with a burst of speed in the confined space!

"Bang—!" With the first loud crash, the SUV's front end slammed hard into the rear of a small car parked at the edge of the railing, pushing the car forward a distance.

"Screech—!" The cut railings emitted a piercing sound of metal tearing.

The next moment, Shu looked up. Directly above him, from a height of six stories, a small car plummeted straight down!

Shu didn't dodge, just kept running forward.

Because the car was directly above Shu now, but when it landed, it wouldn't hit Shu.

It would hit the "Chariot"-class Honkai beast chasing relentlessly behind!

Today, I'll make sure you live up to your "Chariot" designation!

The small car, weighing over a ton and carrying kinetic energy, fell from the sky, delivering a heavy blow to the unprotected Honkai beast!

The immense impact instantly smashed the Honkai beast's head into the ground, but it was harmless. A small car falling from the sky wasn't enough to break the Honkai beast's defense.

But seven or eight cars might be a different story.

The next moment, car after car flew out from the sixth floor, each one accurately hitting the Honkai beast that hadn't even reacted yet.

"Shu! No more cars!" A total of nine cars had completely smashed the Honkai beast to the ground.

Upstairs, Kiana peeked her dusty face out, reporting to Shu, "Did I hit it!?!"

When the Honkai beast's steps faltered, Shu had already stopped, keeping a distance and watching as cars crashed onto the Honkai beast's head one after another.

Each impact made Shu's body instinctively flinch, but Shu's mood was ecstatic.

Still that word, awesome!!

What's wrong, Honkai beast? Didn't you like chasing people? Come chase me now! Lying there like that, got something on your mind?

What? You say I won't let you get up? That's right! I just want to see you like this, wanting to take me down but not being able to do anything to me! Hehehe...

Shu's self-composed internal dialogue ended after the ninth car flew out, because Shu recognized that it was the SUV Kiana had used to ram the other cars.

Shu: "?"

Crap, a madlad! Even madder than me!

Fortunately, Kiana peeked her head out right after, making Shu breathe a sigh of relief.

It seemed she had jumped out of the car door at the last moment before the car flew out. Kiana wasn't reckless enough to drive the car straight off the sixth floor in a divine descent.

"Perfect!" Shu smiled and gave Kiana upstairs a thumbs-up. Kiana breathed a sigh of relief, then smeared a smudge of dust on her nose, looking smug after seeing Shu's thumbs-up.

"Hehehe, this miss is indeed a genius!"

Kiana got up smugly, then quickly ran downstairs.

It was no longer safe to stay here!

Thus, the first step of the plan was perfectly achieved!

Shu glanced at the Honkai beast, which had reacted from its daze, and smiled to himself quietly.

"You think it's over?"

Nine cars were Kiana's and this building's limit, but not the limit in Shu's plan!

Shu silently took another step back.

The next moment, a heavy, oversized truck, fully loaded with cargo, suddenly burst out from around the corner.

It was estimated that this truck hadn't traveled at such high speeds since it was born, except maybe on the highway, let alone taking sharp turns?

It would flip! And it would crash!

But that was exactly what Shu wanted - for this truck to flip here!

Without buffering or any delay, the fully loaded truck suddenly fishtailed in the city streets.

Instantly, fire hydrants on the roadside burst, spraying water high into the sky, streetlights snapped cleanly like toothpicks, and the truck, after breaking through layers of obstacles, finally lived up to expectations, flipping onto the Honkai beast!

The Honkai beast, which hadn't even gotten up yet, went back to lying down again.

The immense weight pressed down on it, making it difficult to exert force for a moment, leaving it buried in the wreckage of the truck.

In the overturned truck cab, Bronya, who was wearing at least three layers of thick clothes, awkwardly climbed out of the driver's seat.

Running and shedding layers, Bronya finally took off the last extra layer of clothing just as she reached Shu.

"Shu, be careful." Bronya wiped sweat from her forehead, unsure if it was from nervousness or being overheated by the thick clothes.

There was no helping it. Bronya's task was too dangerous. She was actually going to ram into it, so she could only wear a few more layers to protect herself.

The outermost two layers of thick clothes were still insisted upon by Shu and Mei for Bronya to wear.

Making a Ural bloodline child wear so many layers was really hard on her...

"Leave the rest to me." Shu's smile turned calm at this point. He pulled out his handgun, chambering a round smoothly.

Bronya nodded, then quickly ran away.

At this moment, Kiana also just came down from upstairs. They exchanged a glance and ran to the rear together.

While running, Kiana shouted, "Shu! Take it down!!"

"Got it!" Shu responded loudly, raising his handgun and pulling the trigger without hesitation at the pile of vehicles.

"Bang bang bang—!"

Three bullets spat from the muzzle. Sparks from the bullets hitting steel landed on the leaking fuel, and Shu also found cover, shrinking himself as much as possible.

The next moment, several rapid and intense explosions rang out. Wreckage of cars flew everywhere, instantly shattering the glass display cases of nearby roadside shops.

Even the overturned truck was blasted several meters away by the earth-shattering explosion, then crashed back down heavily onto the Honkai beast.

The rapid and violent attack made even its creator marvel. The detonation of ten cars, one of which was a large truck with an external fuel tank!

Was this still not enough to defeat a Honkai beast?

No!

Shu firmly believed it wasn't!

Fuel on the ground burned fiercely, pre-welcoming the fire-red clouds of dusk in the sky.

Amidst the ruins and wreckage, a towering body slowly rose, resembling a world-ending demon against the backdrop of flames.

Unfortunately, it wasn't the protagonist of this grand show!

At the edge of the third-floor railing, a figure suddenly sprinted and leaped over the railing, without any deceleration, jumping into the air, landing accurately and squarely on top of the Honkai beast's head!

Shu's feet landed firmly on the Honkai beast's head. This was Shu's first time being so close to a Honkai beast.

Only at this close range could Shu truly see how much damage the previous attacks had actually done to this Honkai beast.

The originally smooth surface was now pitted and uneven, the damaged areas like shattered glass shards. At a glance, they were all minor injuries, with only one or two large cracks relatively far from him.

These cracks alone were far from enough to have much impact on this Honkai beast, let alone kill it.

If that truck had been loaded with missiles, Shu might have planned for that.

But the truck wreckage firmly pinned down most of the Honkai beast's body. When Shu jumped onto the Honkai beast's head, it had already swayed its body, trying to throw Shu off.

But restrained by the truck wreckage, the Honkai beast surprisingly didn't move much for a moment.

And this was the effect Shu wanted!

From the start, he hadn't planned to rely on these cars to kill this Honkai beast. That was just unrealistic. If he really did that, Otto might laugh himself out of his coffin!

Shu took a deep breath, stabilized his body, clenched his right fist, and raised his right hand high above his head, unprecedented [Expectation] gathering in his fist.

[From Kiana, Mei, Bronya: Shatter the Honkai beast's shell!]

"This punch is all my life's power! Can you take it!!"

Shu gritted his teeth, using all his strength, and punched down hard, right in the center of the Honkai beast's brow!

Instantly, the area where the Honkai beast was hit shattered like a mirror struck by a heavy blow! The cracks spread across half of the Honkai beast's head in the blink of an eye.

The next moment, the white shell of its head shattered, revealing a pinkish-purple cube core!
