Bronya's spiral twintails and bangs were blown upwards by the wind for a good moment before settling down. She stared somewhat blankly at Kiana, who had vanished from the center of the field, then turned her head along with everyone else to look behind them.
In the corner, Kiana had done a flip and was now leaning against the wall, head down.
Peeking through her own long legs, Kiana saw the crowd looking at her with peculiar expressions and gave an awkward laugh.
Shu squatted beside Kiana, the distance between them barely changed.
He had seen it clearly just now. Kiana hadn't made any real running motion; she had merely taken a step in a jogging posture, and her entire body shot forward uncontrollably towards the crowd.
Shu immediately matched Kiana's speed. However, before he could help her veer off course or slow down, Kiana, realizing she had lost control, had already done a flip mid-air, somersaulting over everyone's heads.
That explained Kiana's current posture.
After a two-second pause, Kiana finally tilted her head to look at Shu, who had been squatting beside her all along. She reached out a hand towards him and said in a muffled voice, "Shu, give me a hand?"
She was afraid if she flipped over by herself, she'd shoot off again. She was also worried about hurting someone else if they tried to help her.
Shu nodded, reached out, and took Kiana's hand. Only then did Kiana dare to start turning herself over.
Sure enough, the simple movement caused Shu's body to be yanked sideways by Kiana, nearly sending him flipping out along with her.
Fortunately, Shu stabilized them both and helped Kiana stand steady.
Kiana stood there gingerly. "What do we do now?"
Otto had already started recording data.
"Speed, strength, and physique show another significant enhancement, approximately threefold..." Otto muttered, then looked at Kiana and Shu, who was protectively beside her. "How do you feel personally? Can you maintain this state for long?"
"Maintaining it isn't a problem, but not being able to control my body like this feels awful," Kiana honestly stated her thoughts.
What felt awful wasn't the lack of control itself, but the discrepancy between the force she subconsciously exerted and the feedback she received.
Humans control their exertion by percentage, not a specific number. Moreover, such control isn't innate but rather experience accumulated over time.
Before, one punch could only break some brittle fruit. Now, one punch could smash through a door or knock down a wall.
Who could adapt their strength control instantly?
That was Kiana's situation.
"Since you can still maintain it... why not try familiarizing yourself with this power under Shu's supervision?" Otto nodded and said to the two.
"Huh?!" Kiana's eyes widened in surprise, but she didn't dare make any large movements.
Otto nodded, then turned to Theresa. "Theresa, go help Grandpa inform the kitchen to send over some ingredients and a few portable cooking sets."
"Hmm?!" Kiana stared at Otto in shock. Shu frowned, sensing something wasn't right.
"Let Kiana eat her own cooking for dinner tonight," Otto uttered a truly demonic statement.
"Whaaat?!!" Kiana let out a tragic wail. "Nooo! I really can't cook! Aaaah!!"
Making her eat her own cooking?! This Overseer Otto must be possessed by a demon! Definitely!!
Curse you, demon! Get out of the body of my respected ally, Overseer Otto!!
"Grandpa, this..." Theresa hesitated, unsure whether she should help her grandpa make things difficult for her niece.
"Go on. Isn't Shu here? Whether Kiana can cook depends on whether Shu can teach her," Otto said with a smile, even starting to walk away.
"Mei, you shouldn't stay here either. Why not go prepare some supper for Kiana?" Otto even reminded Mei before leaving.
Mei was among those least enhanced among them; she couldn't withstand a bump or a pinch from Kiana.
Besides Shu, no one here could handle Kiana's current "recklessness." Even Shu could suffer greatly from Kiana if caught unaware.
Otto believed that with the motivation of what to eat for dinner, Kiana would surely overcome this hurdle quickly.
As for the legendary lack of cooking skills seemingly etched into the DNA of a certain white-haired family... Otto indicated there was no need to worry.
It wasn't the fault of this group of white-haired people. Whose fault it was, he wouldn't say.
Besides... he never said Shu couldn't help Kiana cook.
Wasn't he even having Mei prepare supper for Kiana? How thoughtful he was, yet Kiana still called him a demon... Sigh, being a good person really is tiring...
Otto left the testing area humming a little tune. Theresa could only give Kiana a look of encouragement before rushing off to inform the logistics department.
The sooner the supplies arrived, the sooner there was hope of eating!
"Kiana... Supper will definitely be plentiful, don't worry!" Mei brought Kiana the only piece of good news, but Kiana had already lost her soul, only nodding numbly at Mei.
"Bronya will go see what's for dinner," Bronya... she probably wasn't seeking revenge, probably not...
In the blink of an eye, everyone else had left. Shu sighed, turned his head, and saw Kiana had squatted down sometime ago and started drawing circles on the ground.
"Hehe... No dinner tonight... hehe..." Kiana had lost all color, hugging her knees, looking exactly like a child abandoned by the world.
"Ahem..." Shu cleared his throat. "It's okay, you just don't have..."
He stopped mid-sentence, looked at the white-haired girl before him who likely carried some curse, and changed his words to something less certain.
"...I'll do my best..."
Kiana looked up with a pout, gazing blankly at the unconfident Shu, almost bursting into tears.
Shu, are you abandoning me too?
"It's just helping you get used to your current strength and physique, it shouldn't be too difficult..." Shu had no choice but to squat down beside Kiana and comfort her.
"But I really can't cook..." Kiana mumbled.
Since meeting Shu, she had entered the kitchen quite a few times, but mostly to sneak food or see what was for dinner, sneaking food along the way... She had only actually tried cooking twice...
The first time was when she first met Shu, thinking she'd make herself some bacon and heat up an egg... then the microwave exploded...
The second time was cooking with Sister Kallen, and Overseer Otto went straight [as in, died happily] with satisfaction. Shu tried a bite and was fine, but he promptly dumped the plate of carbon... uh, food... right in front of Kiana.
Would she ever have a chance in her life to learn Shu's Manchu-Han Imperial Feast?
Kiana fell into deep confusion.
