It's Getting Dark

Rita knew that such a reckless method was only theoretically feasible. Rushing to the battlefield at all costs would only add a pile of useless scrap metal to the scene.

And even then, it would still take some time to arrive... Under normal circumstances, arriving here would probably take, as Otto had said, half an hour.

Half an hour... Rita held Li Sushang tighter, exhaling a puff of white air.

It's really... as long as a polar night...

"Teacher Ragna... why isn't it dawn yet?" The young girl timidly followed her teacher and savior.

The moon hung at the edge of the sky, circling this pale earth endlessly.

"This is the polar night. The moon hasn't set yet." Ragna looked at the child she had pulled out of the collapsed flower shop and smiled with a complicated expression.

Unlike other children, this little girl was probably the most well-behaved one she had saved. Even when she saw the light again from the ruins, she didn't show any negative emotions.

It was as if this child had no other expression besides smiling. Even now, the little girl was asking her a question with a smile on her face.

So sensible that it made one's heart ache.

"Then when will the moon set?" Rita asked again. She was a little afraid of such a dark night.

"The sun..."

It was getting dark... it was bound to happen. After dusk, night would come.

And in this dark night, the snow filled the wounds on Parvati's body. It shook off the accumulated white snow, and when it stood up again, the deep wounds on its body had already disappeared into the heavy snow.

It let out a roar in the dark night, enraged, wanting to tear all traces of life and civilization to shreds.

The first priority was the guy who had seriously injured it!

After a round of roaring, Parvati glared ahead, only to find a somewhat thin figure in front of it.

This isn't the guy who hurt it...

"Are you looking for my teammates?" Even though the other party was a Honkai Beast, Rita still asked very politely, "I've hidden them all... in a place where they won't be found for a while."

What is she doing?

Such a thought arose in Parvati's chaotic mind, but it was immediately replaced by endless tyranny.

Rita had almost no equipment on her. She only held a [Yu Long] in her hand and had some throwing objects hanging from her waist. She stood there in the icy and snowy world, all alone.

But she just stood there, like an unmoving statue, like an unbending flagpole.

"I'm better at holding things up."

A violent roar sounded. The familiar snowstorm came from the front, as if to tear Rita to shreds.

Rita showed a slight smile and threw out two small bombs of different styles.

A ball of fire exploded in the snowstorm. The scorching flames wrapped forward, swallowing the oncoming snowstorm and buying Rita a corner of safety.

And the other one passed through this flame, shot forward, and braving the blizzard, rushed straight into Parvati's open mouth.

Compared to the instantaneous high temperature, the flames produced by this incendiary bomb clung to Parvati's throat like a maggot on a bone.

Instantly, the snowstorm stopped, and Parvati let out a familiar cry of pain.

But this time, Parvati didn't struggle, but instead began to sweep everything around it with its huge body in a rage.

As if she had expected it, Rita quickly retreated, dodging Parvati's large-scale sweeps again and again.

As Parvati lifted its feet, Rita's movements paused, and a string of grappling hooks shot out from her waist, hooking onto a huge rock in the distance.

The instantly retracting grappling hooks pulled Rita into the distance.

The next moment, Parvati slammed heavily onto the ground, and clusters of ice pillars rose from the ground, covering a large area.

Rita landed on the ground, immediately dismantled the grappling hook module, and threw herself to the side, not daring to stay in place for even a second.

Sure enough, the next moment Rita dodged, several thick ice pillars fell from the sky, smashing the spot where Rita had landed to pieces. Even Rita herself stumbled from the shockwaves produced by the ice pillars landing.

Without stopping for a moment, Rita took advantage of the shockwave to do a quick roll, got up, and continued to run in the direction away from the river.

Before Rita could run far, hail the size of fists came crashing down from the sky. Caught off guard, Rita's shoulder was hit hard, and she almost lost her balance.

Gritting her teeth and supporting her body, Rita threw several more incendiary bombs upwards. The surging flames propped up a thin protective umbrella. Rita took a deep breath and dove into the snow like an athlete entering the water.

There was nothing to hide here, only the snow on the ground could provide a little buffer.

The hail smashed large patches of snow fog on the snowfield, but there was no trace of Rita.

Parvati's hatred for life made it find its direction. It suddenly turned around and let out a roar behind it.

This was just a roar, no snowstorm, no laser. The incendiary bomb Rita had thrown earlier had indeed taken effect.

Parvati didn't know anything about long-range consumption. Once it found Rita's direction, it rushed over recklessly. Every step its huge body took was like an earthquake.

Rita stood there, raised her hand, and patted the snow on her shoulder. But as she looked at her shoulder and arm, which were now difficult to move, her eyebrows furrowed imperceptibly.

Then, Rita looked at Parvati, which was rushing towards her.

At this moment, downstream of the river, a group of monks and survivors from the temple were quietly waiting for the last raft to arrive.

The cold they could feel around them, and the terrifying roars and muffled sounds that occasionally came from a distance, made them dare not make a sound.

"It's here!" Someone shouted, and everyone's eyes turned to the river.

However, what appeared were two rubber rafts.

Yuanming stood on one of the rafts, waving to the people on the shore for help. Several monks hurriedly went up to help Yuanming bring the two rafts ashore.

"Yuanming, why are there two boats?" a monk asked in confusion.

Yuanming didn't say anything, just let them see for themselves.

In the midst of the faint loud noises from a distance, a group of people approached the extra raft and saw Durandal and Li Sushang huddled together.

On the other side, Rita gently wiped the blood from her face and looked up at the sky again.

So dark... not even a single star is willing to stay for her...
