Chapter 1

For three years, I had been secretly wed to Simon, yet he never publicly acknowledged our marriage.

We were participating in a travel reality show together, but Simon was constantly flirting with the renowned actress, Hannah Schmidt.

During a game of truth or dare, the production team challenged them to kiss, and Simon didn't hesitate. He embraced Hannah and kissed her deeply, as if they were alone in the world.

When an avalanche hit, Simon rushed to Hannah's aid while I was trapped beneath the heavy snow.

After my rescue, I had completely forgotten who Simon was.

It was only then that Simon began to feel remorse. He publicly revealed our relationship and even wept, pleading with me to remember him.

He was unaware that the countdown to my memory loss had begun during the reality show. As darkness fell, we pitched tents and gathered around a campfire, awaiting further instructions from the show's crew.

Simon sat right beside Hannah, wrapping his jacket around her.

They conversed intimately, oblivious to their surroundings, and anyone could see they were a perfect match.

When the truth or dare game began, Simon was chosen.

The crew asked, "Who's your ideal type among the cast?"

Without hesitation, he pointed at Hannah. They shared a glance and a smile, their connection evident.

Seizing the moment, the staff and other participants began urging them to kiss.

I stared at Simon, clutching my dress tightly. My hands were cold and damp with perspiration.

But Simon seemed oblivious to my presence. Perhaps he never cared about my feelings at all.

He stood up with a smile, beckoning Hannah.

Hannah grinned. She leapt into his arms and they shared a passionate kiss.

I was the only one who forced a smile, pretending everything was fine.

As their kiss ended, Simon licked his lips. His eyes were full of affection.

Just as I felt tears welling up, I lowered my head.

I used to think he was just reserved with his emotions, but now I realized he saved his passion for someone else. Sadly, it was never me.

My condition flared up again and my head was throbbing.

I wondered if the pain would lessen if I stopped loving him.

After the shoot, I found Simon preparing a bed for Hannah.

He frowned slightly, his tone irritated. "What is it now? The kiss was just for the show. If you're reading too much into it, that's your problem."

I gazed at his face—the handsome features I once adored. His defined brows, straight nose and naturally upturned mouth.

Everything I used to be so captivated by, why did it suddenly seem so unimportant?

I wasn't sure if my voice was still shaking.

I said, "Simon, I will forget you in 23 days."

He smirked. "Not this again, Claire. The same lie twice—do you think I'll believe it? If you're unwell, seek treatment. Don't try to manipulate me."

With that, he turned and walked away without a second thought, leaving me alone.

His departing figure merged with the memory of the boy I once knew, then slowly separated.

In my recollection.

I had once rested against his chest and asked, "Simon, I have a strange condition that erases my memories every three years. If I forget you one day, what will you do?"

Simon held me close and softly kissed the top of my head as if I were precious.

"Then I'll remain by your side until you remember me again."

The mountain air was harsh and frigid, gusting through the campsite.

Due to the show's requirements, I was wearing a thin evening gown.

I couldn't help but think of the jacket draped over Hannah's shoulders earlier.

I never imagined this wind would give me the courage to let go. With trembling hands, I took out my phone and called my closest friend.
