1. A new heir to the throne

The boxing gym was buzzing with energy. Fighters moved around, hitting punching bags, sparring, and shouting encouragement at each other. The smell of sweat and leather filled the air. Mark Davis, a man in his late 20s, stood in the ring, ready to spar. He was lean and fast, his body shaped by years of hard training.

His opponent, Jake, was much bigger—a tall man with massive arms who hit like a truck. But Mark wasn't scared. He knew he could rely on his speed and strategy to win.

The bell rang, and the match began. Mark moved quickly, bouncing on his toes, always ready to dodge. Jake swung his fist in a heavy right hook, but Mark ducked just in time and jabbed Jake's side with a quick punch.

"Good one!" Jake said, grinning through his mouthguard as he barely blocked the jab.

Mark didn't answer. His focus was sharp. He was waiting for the perfect moment to strike.

Jake kept coming, throwing punch after punch. Mark blocked and dodged, but it was tiring. His arms ached, and sweat dripped into his eyes. Still, he stayed calm, watching for an opening. Then he saw it—Jake dropped his left hand just a little, leaving his jaw exposed.

This was it. Mark twisted his body, ready to deliver a strong uppercut that would end the match.

But before he could move, a sudden, sharp pain shot through his chest. It was unlike anything he'd felt before—hot and unbearable. His breath caught in his throat, and his vision blurred. He staggered, falling to his knees.

"Mark!" Jake shouted, but his voice sounded as if it was coming from far away.

Mark clutched his chest, gasping for air. The pain grew worse, spreading through his body. His legs gave out, and he collapsed onto the cold, hard mat of the ring.

Everything went dark.

---

Mark woke up to the feel of soft sheets under him. For a moment, he lay still, his mind stuck between remembering his last moments and trying to understand where he was. He recalled the sharp pain in his chest, the dim lights of the gym, and the cold darkness that came after. But now, he was warm and comfortable, surrounded by an unfamiliar stillness.

He opened his eyes and stared at the ceiling. It was high, with wooden beams carved with fancy designs. A golden chandelier with flickering candles hung above him. Confused, Mark sat up. This wasn't the gym. He didn't recognize this place.

Looking around, he saw a large bed covered in soft red curtains and fur blankets. The room was huge, with stone walls decorated with tapestries showing knights and dragons. A fireplace crackled nearby, its flames lighting up the room with a warm glow.

"What the fu*k… where am I?" he whispered. But his voice sounded strange—higher, softer, and childlike.

Mark panicked. He threw off the covers and swung his legs out of bed, only to freeze. His legs were short and skinny. His hands, resting on his lap, were small and smooth. He ran to a nearby mirror, almost tripping on a thick rug, and froze when he saw his reflection.

A little boy stared back at him.

The boy had big, golden-brown eyes, messy dark hair, and a young, soft face. Mark touched his cheek, and the boy in the mirror did the same.

Suddenly Mark clutched his head as a rush of strange memories filled his mind. These weren't his memories. His mind spun as voices echoed, some kind and some sharp, but all unfamiliar.

The pain in his head grew unbearable. He fell to his knees, gripping his temples. Then, just as suddenly, the pain was gone.

Mark—no, Stannon—sat on the floor, breathing heavily. His thoughts started to clear. He wasn't Mark Davis anymore. He was Stannon Baratheon, the eldest son of King Robert Baratheon, the ruler of the Seven Kingdoms.

He was the son of Robert Baratheon and Lyanna Stark. Memories came flooding back. He saw a young woman with kind eyes—his mother, Lyanna—and his father, Robert, holding him as a baby.

Lyanna was taken by Rhaegar Targaryen shortly after he was born. Robert, who loved Lyanna deeply, had fought a rebellion to win her back and to claim the Iron Throne. When Robert became king, he publicly declared Stannon as his eldest son and rightful heir.

Unlike the cold, distant father Stannon expected from the show, Robert in these memories was different. He loved Stannon deeply and showed it often. There were memories of Robert lifting him up high, laughing, and teaching him how to ride a horse.

"You are my pride," Robert had told him once, standing together on the castle walls. "You and your mother are the reason I fought. You'll be a better king than I'll ever be."

Stannon felt his chest tighten. This was not some dream. This was all real. He had really transmigrated in some sort of alternative Game of Thrones Universe where Lyanna had a child with Robert.

As he sat on the cold floor, he tried to calm himself down. He took deep breaths, focusing on steadying his thoughts.

From what he could piece together, being the son of Robert Baratheon and Lyanna Stark was both a blessing and a curse. His existence was a big problem for the Lannisters, especially Queen Cersei. As Robert's eldest son, he was the rightful heir to the Iron Throne, which threatened Cersei and her children's claim.

But, surprisingly, in all his six years of life, Cersei had never shown any hatred toward him. Instead, she treated him kindly, as if he were her own son. She showered him with love and care. To the old Stannon, this seemed real. But the new Stannon wasn't a clueless little boy. He knew Cersei from the show. She was smart, manipulative, and would do anything to protect her family and ambitions.

Stannon quickly realized that Cersei's kindness wasn't genuine. It was all part of her plan. From the memories he had inherited, it was clear that she had been working to make the old Stannon completely dependent on her. Whenever Robert wasn't around, Cersei stepped in, acting like the perfect mother. She gave Stannon attention, gifts, and affection, making him trust her completely.

Robert, although he loved Stannon, was often busy with his duties as king. And when he wasn't ruling, he spent most of his time hunting, drinking, or at brothels. Cersei used this time to get close to Stannon, pretending to care for him deeply. Her goal was to ensure that if Stannon ever became king, he would follow her orders.

He hated how easily the old Stannon had fallen for Cersei's tricks. But he couldn't blame the boy entirely. He was just a child who wanted a mother's love. Still, things would be different now. Stannon wasn't a naive six-year-old anymore. He was Mark Davis, a grown man with years of experience.

Even though Cersei acted kind, Stannon knew it was only a matter of time before she showed her true colors. Maybe she was waiting for Robert to die before she made her move. Or maybe she had other plans. Either way, Stannon had to be ready.

Stannon was just starting to calm his thoughts when a strange black panel appeared in front of him. It floated in the air, glowing faintly. His eyes widened in shock as golden words began to appear on it, one by one:

[Initializing System...]

[Binding System to Host...]

Stannon blinked, confused but excited. His heart raced—not from fear, but from sheer joy. He had read stories like this before, where the main character, after transmigrating into a new world, would receive a cheat-like system. Now it was happening to him. The realization sent a wave of excitement through him.

But before he could celebrate, a sharp, unbearable pain shot through his body. It felt as though his soul was being torn apart and then put back together. Stannon collapsed onto the cold stone floor, his small body shaking as the pain ripped through him. He clenched his teeth, refusing to scream. He didn't want anyone walking in and seeing him like this.

The pain was like nothing he'd ever felt. His muscles tensed, his breathing became ragged, and sweat dripped down his face. Time seemed to drag on forever. Finally, the pain faded, leaving him lying on the floor, exhausted and drenched in sweat.

When he opened his eyes again, the black panel was still there, now showing new text:

[System Ready for Use]

At that moment, Stannon's mind was flooded with information. It wasn't painful like when he was getting those memories of the previous Stannon, but it was overwhelming. He shut his eyes, focusing on the knowledge being planted in his head.

He let out a relieved breath as the information transfer finally ended. His small body felt heavy, and his chest rose and fell as he lay on the cold stone floor, catching his breath. It was over. The system—the strange glowing panel that had appeared before him—was now fully active. Even though he felt tired, excitement bubbled inside him. This was his cheat, his way to survive and grow stronger in this dangerous world.

After a moment, Stannon sat up, his eyes fixed on the glowing black panel floating in front of him. It shimmered softly, showing golden text in neat lines. His heart beat faster as he read the details.

The host can copy abilities and skills from living beings by physical contact.

Copied abilities and skills start at 5% to 10% proficiency of the original user's proficiency. The percentage will increase with each upgrade of the system.

2. Modification for Human Suitability:

If the target is a non-human living being, the copied ability will be adjusted to suit the limitations and capabilities of the human body.

Restrictions may be imposed to protect the host's health and stamina.

3. Rank-Limited Copying:

The current system is at ★ rank, which only allows the host to copy ★ level abilities and skills.

To copy abilities and skills exceeding this rank, the system must be upgraded.

4. Training and Upgrading:

The host must train in currently copied abilities and skills to gain system experience (EXP).

The accumulated exp could be used to be upgrade the system or upgrade the skills and abilities, as per the host's choice.

5. Ability and Skill Slots:

At the current level, the host can only hold a limited number of abilities (3) and skills (5).

Unlocking more slots requires upgrading the system.

6. Stamina Consumption:

Using abilities consumes stamina, with the cost depending on the complexity and power of the ability.

7. Ability and Skill Levels:

The ★ symbol next to abilities and skills represents their current level.

Levels can be increased through consistent practice, enhancing effectiveness and reducing stamina consumption.

8. Removal of Abilities and Skills:

The host can remove existing skills from their slot, but this action will initiate a cooldown period of 48 hours.

Once removed, all benefits provided by that particular skill will be permanently lost.

9. Abilities and Skills

Abilities are like the special powers or traits some characters possess naturally, often linked to their heritage or magic. Some abilities can also be acquired through profound external factors.

Skills, on the other hand, are talents characters develop through practice and experience.

10. Cooldown for Copying Abilities and Skills:

Once a particular ability or skill is copied, there will be a cooldown period based on its rank:

★: 1 day

★★: 100 days

★★★: 1,000 days and so on

Within the cooldown period the host would not be able to generate and copy any skill or ability.

This cooldown period will be reduced with system upgrades.

11. Single Copy Restriction Per Living Being:

Once an ability or skill is copied from a living being, the same ability or skill cannot be copied from that being again if it is of the same rank.

12. Cooldown for Copying Multiple Abilities or Skills from the Same Living Being:

Once an ability or skill is copied from a particular living being, there will be a cooldown period of one year before the host can copy any other ability or skill from that same being, regardless of rank.

The cooldown period will be reduced with system upgrades.

13. Failure in Generation:

There is a 50% chance that copying abilities and skills may fail when the system is used on a living being. If it fails, the host cannot try to copy from that being again for 10 years. This cooldown will become shorter as the system is upgraded.

•For humans: The failure only blocks copying from that specific person, but the host can still copy from other humans.

•For non-humans: The failure blocks copying from the entire species until the cooldown ends.

Stannon stared at the glowing words, his mind racing as he thought about what this meant. The Accession System was amazing. It gave him the power to copy abilities and skills from other people—and even creatures. Though there were limitations, it was still an incredible tool to survive and thrive in this dangerous world.

What fascinated him more was the possibility of copying abilities from non-humans. The system's safety features meant such abilities would be modified to suit his human form. Restrictions might be annoying, but he knew it was necessary. After all, if he copied something like a dragon's fire-breathing, it could destroy his body without these safeguards.

His thoughts were interrupted by a sharp knock on the door.

"My prince," a voice called from the other side, formal and respectful, "the king wishes to see you in the Great Hall."

Stannon's heart raced at the mention of the king. Robert Baratheon, the man he had only ever seen on a screen.

"Tell him I'll be there shortly," Stannon replied, doing his best to keep his voice steady and composed.

There was a brief pause before the servant answered, "As you command, my prince."

Stannon heard the sound of retreating footsteps but quickly called out, "Wait!"

The servant stopped. Stannon moved toward the door, his mind racing with an idea.

'This is the perfect opportunity to test my system.'
