125: A Sniper’s Gift to the Sniper King – Ganyu’s Barrett

Yesterday, Ryen and the others spent the entire day renovating the estate and upgrading their base.

Most of the work involved Redstone automation, making life in the estate much more convenient.

They installed elevators—one leading to the floating island and another to the slime farm.

Automated furnaces, storage systems, and even a few auto-replacing armor stands were added to their collection of high-tech contraptions.

They also finished crafting the mountain-clearing cannon they had promised Cloud Retainer.

Cloud Retainer was eager to test it out.

The results? Absolutely spectacular.

In just one afternoon, she had blasted away more than half a mountain using TNT.

The harvest of resources was immense, but in the end, Cloud Retainer decided to put the cannon aside—at least for now.

It was simply too powerful.

She had ended up obliterating even the planned construction zones, meaning they'd have to fix everything again today.

Meanwhile, the Millelith soldiers and miners took turns rotating shifts.

The previous team of Millelith passed on important knowledge to the newcomers, such as the location of the Redstone cannons at the entrance and how to handle the Lucky Blocks.

Luckily, none of this required Ryen's personal involvement.

By midday, most of the estate repairs were complete.

That afternoon, Ryen led the group on a search within their explored territories, specifically hunting for Lucky Blocks.

They opened over twenty of them.

And once again, Ganyu's luck proved to be the most reliable treasure of all.

Whenever she opened a Lucky Block, they reaped massive rewards.

This time, she obtained over two stacks of diamonds.

Nearly two stacks of Ender Pearls and Eyes of Ender.

A vast array of Redstone components, materials, and enchanted gear—so many that they practically lost count.

But the most significant rewards were—

Four Elytra wings.

And three Totems of Undying.

And that was just from an area within a twenty-kilometer radius!

With today's expedition taking them even farther, who knew how much they'd find?

Of course, not all the Lucky Blocks were opened by Ganyu alone.

Ryen and the others also took a few turns.

Ningguang and the others managed to get some food and wool—useful, but not exactly exciting.

Originally, they had planned to let everyone try their luck.

But then Ryen…

He somehow triggered an obsidian water prison trap.

After that, everyone immediately gave up on the idea.

The lesson they learned was clear—

Never place too much trust in your own luck.

Unless, of course, you were Ganyu.

On another note, they also obtained three golden apples yesterday.

Xiao ate two of them.

And just like that, his karmic debt was completely cleansed.

This was probably the best news Zhongli had received in the past few centuries.

From now on, Xiao could continue living as the Conqueror of Demons without the burden of his past sins.

As for the erosion of his body due to his long lifespan…

Zhongli wasn't particularly concerned about it.

After all, he still had a Totem of Undying gifted to him by Ryen.

If the erosion ever became truly life-threatening…

Well, worst case scenario, he could just die and respawn.

By morning, preparations were in full swing.

After clearing out the storage chests in the automatic furnaces, Ryen strolled leisurely back to the estate's courtyard.

There, the entire group stood fully equipped in enchanted diamond armor.

Each of them wielded weapons forged from diamond.

Thanks to the Lucky Blocks, diamonds were no longer a rare resource—though they weren't quite abundant enough to equip all of the Millelith and miners just yet.

At the very least, though, Ryen and his core team had full enchanted diamond armor sets.

Not to mention, they also had the option to trade with the villagers for more supplies.

Most of yesterday's emeralds and diamonds had been spent upgrading their equipment.

One of the biggest advantages of diamond gear?

The weight wasn't as ridiculous as iron or gold.

A single diamond weighed around 380 kilograms.

A fully crafted diamond sword weighed less than a ton.

And an entire set of enchanted diamond armor?

Barely ten tons in total.

By comparison, iron and gold armor would have made combat nearly impossible.

And so, the group stood at the ready—fully equipped and prepared to embark on their greatest adventure yet.

Uh…

Even now, it still felt a bit ridiculous.

But they were all Genshin characters, wielders of elemental power.

As long as they infused their elements into the gear, operating these weapons in Teyvat wouldn't be an issue.

Last night, Xiao had gone out demon-hunting, fully clad in his enchanted diamond armor.

And most importantly—diamond armor was second only to netherite armor in terms of defense.

Fully enchanted, every protection stat in Xiao's personal status panel was maxed out.

Just to test its limits, he had deliberately sought out a Geo Chieftain Hilichurl.

It smashed down a massive stone fist upon him—

He barely even felt it.

And with a single counterattack from his diamond sword, he felled the beast with ease.

The significance of diamond armor was undeniable.

If only there were enough for the entire Millelith force, Keqing would have immediately proposed outfitting everyone in it.

The moment Ryen returned, Ganyu and Nahida rushed up to him, each claiming one of his hands.

No one was surprised by this.

Everyone was well aware that Ryen and Ganyu were now living together, and Nahida had always been his close friend.

Just yesterday, he had expanded the estate specifically for her, constructing a grand garden in her honor.

Nahida was very spoiled in this household.

Hiding the slight discomfort in her heart, Ningguang smiled gently and said,

"We've packed only the necessary weapons. For tools, we're just bringing iron pickaxes. As for food, I have a stack of grilled pork chops, which should be enough."

"Additionally, we're carrying a stack of Ender Pearls."

"Are you sure that's all we need? No iron blocks for emergencies?"

Hearing this, Ryen chuckled, turning his gaze toward Ganyu.

She blinked at him, looking adorably clueless.

"You tell me," he said, grinning. "With Ganyu and Lucky Blocks, do we really need to bring anything else?"

"..."

After a moment of silence, Ningguang shook her head with a helpless smile.

"Fair point. Alright then—shall we depart now?"

"Hold on a second."

Ryen clapped his hands, then reached into his inventory and pulled out a massive black sniper rifle along with thirty rounds of ammunition.

He handed it to Ganyu.

"Almost forgot—I meant to give this to you yesterday."

The sleek, jet-black weapon instantly caught everyone's attention.

There was something eerily unsettling about that gaping muzzle, something that made even Zhongli feel a tinge of unease.

"…Ryen, is this a firearm?"

Zhongli recalled Ryen's AK-47—its similarly terrifying barrel, its ability to instill fear at just a glance.

Ryen nodded with a smirk.

"This is a Barrett anti-materiel sniper rifle, the so-called King of Snipers."

"It fires specialized 12.7mm explosive armor-piercing rounds. Even a grazing hit can rip an enemy to shreds."

"It's the kind of weapon where—if you get hit, no matter where—you're as good as gone."

"It was originally designed to destroy tanks and demolish fortifications."

"With a max effective range of seven kilometers… well, I think you can all understand what kind of weapon this is."

Ryen had always thought that with Ganyu's incredible long-range precision, coupled with her absurd Frostflake Arrows…

She was practically Liyue's own guided missile system.

Yet, she was still using a mere bow? What a tragic waste of talent.

With a Barrett sniper rifle in her hands, maybe she couldn't one-shot the Heavenly Principles, but at the very least…

She could snipe Osial's head off from seven kilometers away.

For Ganyu, effective range had never been a limitation. In the realm of long-range combat, the only limit was the weapon itself—she had no limit.

Ningguang and the others looked on with envy.

But none of them felt that Ryen was playing favorites.

They all knew how unparalleled Ganyu's ranged skills were.

With a bow, her shots never missed.

And now, with a Barrett?

She was about to become Liyue's strategic, long-range precision bombing system.

"This… this is too precious, Ryen…"

Ganyu hesitated to accept the weapon, looking up at him with uncertainty.

Ryen simply reached out and ruffled her hair, his voice soft.

"Nothing is more precious than you, Ganyu. And besides, you've already given me something far more valuable than this. Compared to that, this is nothing."

"...!"

Ganyu's face turned bright red in an instant.

She carefully took the Barrett in her hands—

And the moment she touched it, she felt it.

Her entire being resonated with the weapon, every fiber of her body exulting as if it had been waiting for this moment all along.

Cold. Heavy.

But also… incredibly powerful and reassuring.

She even felt like… if she just swung it at someone, it would still deal massive damage.

Without thinking, Ganyu tilted the Barrett slightly—

And accidentally aimed it at Xiao.

In that instant—

Xiao's mind screamed in warning.

Every instinct he had as a battle-hardened warrior told him—dodge the gun barrel, or you will die.

But before he could move—

Ryen swiftly pushed the rifle downward, his expression suddenly serious.

"Ganyu, remember this."

"No matter where you are—whether it's this world or Teyvat—never point a gun at an ally."

"Understood?"

Ganyu blinked in surprise before quickly turning to Xiao, her voice apologetic.

"S-sorry…"

"…It's fine."

Xiao, though still shaken, shook his head and muttered under his breath to Zhongli,

"Morax… this weapon is extremely dangerous."

Zhongli frowned slightly but said nothing more.

Indeed, something about this rifle gave him a distinct sense of foreboding.

But perhaps it was simply because this world had severely suppressed their divine and adeptal powers.

Under normal circumstances, true gods and adepti wouldn't fear mortal weapons.

"Go ahead, give it a try."

Ryen gestured toward a flock of sheep grazing leisurely in the nearby woods.

Ganyu nodded.

And without needing any instruction, she instinctively raised the rifle, loaded a round, and assumed a textbook-perfect sniping posture.

Every movement was flawless.

The only problem…

She was probably underestimating the Barrett's recoil.

She was definitely about to get knocked flat on her back.

Ryen had just stepped behind her when—

BOOM!

A deafening explosion roared through the air.

Fire and smoke erupted as the bullet screamed toward its target.

Before anyone could even process what had happened—

It struck.

The ground detonated.

A massive crater was blasted into the earth, as if a TNT explosion had gone off.

As for the four or five sheep that had been peacefully grazing just moments ago…

They were now completely gone.

Not even ashes remained.

Ganyu, caught off guard by the recoil, stumbled slightly before steadying herself, her shoulder aching.

She turned to Ryen, eyes wide in shock.

"Ryen, this weapon…"

"Pretty powerful, huh?"

Ryen chuckled, ruffling her hair again.

"Remember—brace yourself harder when using the Barrett, or you'll get knocked back."

Ganyu nodded solemnly. Then, smiling brightly, she threw herself into Ryen's arms.

"Thank you… I love it."

The others turned away, each deep in thought.

Ningguang, in particular, was very intrigued.

Even if not for warfare, this weapon would be insanely effective for monster extermination.

But for now, the firearm mod wasn't fully enabled, so she had to set that thought aside.

Ryen grinned and pulled out a crimson, glowing staff.

"Alright! We're all set—go get the horses! It's time to head out!"

Just as Keqing was about to move, she suddenly noticed the staff in his hands.

"…Ryen, this world has staffs?"

Hearing this, Ningguang also turned, curiosity flashing in her golden eyes.

She preferred catalysts over swords or bows, but Ryen had never mentioned staffs existing in Minecraft before.

"This?"

Ryen lifted his chin proudly.

"This is a divine weapon, no less powerful than my Enma Blade. It drops from a special mod—"

"Its name is… Bloodsucking Staff III."
