For a moment, neither of them spoke. The sound of the rain pounding against the shelter's roof filled the silence.

Then Eric glanced up. His brows furrowed slightly as he took in Karl's soaked form. "Ah. Young men, Karl," he said casually, a slight smirk tugging at his lips.

Karl forced himself to exhale, shaking off the initial shock. He pushed his wet hair back and stepped further under the shelter, keeping his face neutral.

"Oh Hi," Karl muttered.

Or unlucky.

Because fate had just thrown him right into the lion's den.
