Rest And Relaxation

Simon drifted off to sleep, closing his eyes as Helen's random talking about how she hoped to level up became nothing more than background noise to someone like him.

It's been so long since he had relied on somebody else to do something for him.

Well, that's wrong; he relied on other people to be stupid and give him their money and valuables.

He also relied on others to at least be competent enough to help him get money from others.

That's mostly what he relied on others for, but something like this? To be carried off somewhere else without so much of a plan?

There was something strange about it. There was something scary about it that he could not shake off.

This and so many other thoughts swirled around his head as he continued to drift further into sleep, everything for a moment growing dark until…

Simon woke up, lying down on a small bed in a simple room lit by a lightbulb by the center.

He looked around and found non-distinct art hanging by plaster walls, then to his right, he found a small wooden desk with a base on it and beyond that, another bed with a familiar face lying on it.

"Camila…" Simon looked at himself, he was tucked into his bed while his sack, briefcase and cloak were all to the side of his bed.

Rubbing his head a little he got up, hearing the faint sound of a shower, he slowly walked over to a door in the wall.

Thud

The door swung open, revealing Helen in a beautiful white dress that she twirled around in. "Haha, it fits me?"

For a few moments, Simon was confused; where did she get that dress? Did she have any money on her? Did she even know how to pay for it?

Then it dawned on him as he slowly remembered that he had stolen the dresses and clothes from Camila.

"Did you go through my stuff?" Simon rubbed his eyes and stared blankly at Helen.

The lady puffed her chest and her cheeks up. "It's our stuff now. We rightfully uh… looted it together!"

"I'm the one who actually stole it though."

"Well I provided the means of you getting to steal it. I fought off the small boss lady and won, you. So I think I should rightfully get a cut."

Helen then tiptoed to try to meet Simon face-to-face. "And and!" She added on quickly.

"If it weren't for my powers, you would have been mind controlled, and I would have to beat it out of you!"

Simon patted her head to force her to stand up normally. "You know you could have just beaten Camila up, and I would have been freed. That's why Franklin and the others were able to snap out of it anyway."

"Wait really? Oh, well I guess it makes sense, they all flow back to her." Helen turned her head to stare at Camila.

"So we need her for translation? I found those documents, but I couldn't read them at all. I got so confused."

Helen pulled out the fine parchment papers and placed them on the table, walking over to a chair to sit down.

"Yes, and for interrogation too. She's also just an important asset overall. We can't squander her like this, or kill her, she has a foot in the door to every transaction in this city."

Simon could really go for a cigarette right now. He needed that kind of high. There hasn't been a moment to relax in all this time yet.

He went to his briefcase and grabbed a cigarette, but right before he was about to use it, Helen vaporized it with a finger beam.

"What in the Star King's Name are you doing?!" He stood up and tried to get another one only to be stopped by Helen grabbing his wrist.

"Hey! No smoking here! It's a hazard and also you know… it kills! Lung cancer and all that, come on."

Simon raised an eyebrow. "We can heal from that, you crazy little girl."

Helen puffed herself up again, floating a little to assert dominance. "Hey I'm going to grow soon so it's not gonna be little for long! Plus, we're going to be sharing powers more, and I don't want the taste of smoke in my mouth."

He rolled his eyes and sat back down. Simon was too tired to argue, he was just going to take a smoke when she was fast asleep.

"Speaking of sharing powers, you said the more intimate we are, the more power you can share." He narrowed his eyes.

"So I assume-"

"Yes, yes, if we bone, you get full access to my powers!" Helen's cheeks turned beet red as she spoke aloud.

She never actually got that far in a relationship, or well, actually, she had never been in one so serious that it got there.

Or, well, actually, she had just never been in a relationship before at all.

Simon nodded along, taking note of that, he already noticed that the power Helen gave him had disappeared entirely.

"So, if we do it, how long will I have your powers?"

"Uhm… like a long time? I don't know, but we would be able to do like an ultimate duo combo…"

Awkward silence layered the both of them for a few minutes. Then, Simon spoke again.

"I wouldn't be averse to-"

"Ah! Well uh you see! Uhm, for it to work properly, we have to be in synch, like uh, connective emotions and all that stuff, so like, we have to uh like each other and be close!"

This was a complete and utter lie. Helen actually had no idea how to properly share her powers at that level.

She remembered the goddess talking about sex, but after that, she kind of forgot.

"So, we need to go out together?"

"Yup!" Helen nodded a little too vigorously, and when Simon was about to question her on that, they both heard a groan from the nearby bed, as Camila had begun to awaken.
