Chapter five
The sky was as dark as ink, embraced by the twinkling stars swallowing the canvas of daylight, Jacqueline lay on Isaac's thighs while they were still on the boat, Isaac pulled out a vial container and a syringe from his pocket; he handed it over to Jacqueline; she scrutinized the vial container, no information about the content was written on the vial container.
"Use this. It will make you unconscious," he said.
"What!" She exclaimed.
"We need to do this, how else do you think they will believe us? Trust me, you will be fine. It's just for an hour." He said softly, patting her cheek.
Jacqueline opened the vial— used the syringe to absorb the content, pierced the needle into her vein, released the content, and withdrew it out of her vein as she groaned in pain leaving a trickle of blood on the injected spot, she threw the empty vial and syringe into the sea, the coldness of the sea wrapped her body as she shivered—collapsed on Isaac's chest. They arrived at the seaport ambulance wailed; Isaac had called for a rescue team before their boat arrived at the port. Jacqueline was in a comatose state, and her face had several unusual marks. Isaac self-harmed himself making his hand a greenstick fracture, and lightly held the fractured hand with his other hand—groaned in pain as he stepped out of the boat. One of the paramedics brought out a gurney and carried the unconscious Jacqueline onto the gurney and moved her into the ambulance as it pulled off into thin air.
One of the paramedics performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation to restore her breathing and gently patted Jacqueline's cheek to keep her awake while another injected a drip into her vein.
The ambulance roughly parked at the hospital entrance, its doors opened abruptly, and the paramedics jumped out of the ambulance as they reached for the wheeled stretcher and tightened their grip on it, they hastily matched to the entrance door, and two nurses quickly jogged towards them, the stretcher wheels squeaked through the tiles and disappeared into the theatre room.
Isaac immediately asked for the director of the hospital's office, he was taken by a senior nurse to his office.
In a dimly lit room appeared neatly arranged medical journals displayed on the wall shelve. Different awards of achievement framed in a show glass hung on the wall close to the window. A man sat behind a desk, his hair slightly thin with a shade of silver sway around its original color, neatly trimmed with a clean-shaven jawline, wearing a white coat, different colors of pen carefully arranged in the chest pocket, the air carried a faint saint of vitamins and disinfectant. His eyes focused on an X-ray examining it, then he heard a knock on the door.
"Clears throat... Come in."
Both entered the office, the doctor lifted his face up to see who it was.
"Who is he? A patient?" The doctor asked the nurse curiously.
" Isaac Hartford" Isaac answered him.
"We...wel...come.." he stuttered.
He quickly stood up from his chair, jerked off his chair, and rushed to pull out a chair from the desk for Isaac to sit on.
"Mr Hartford. What brings you here today? I'm sorry for my uncultured gesture. This is my first time meeting you; I didn't know it was you." He said anxiously.
"You can leave now." Doctor flapped his hand in dismissal, referring to the nurse; she headed out and shut the door.
"Dr David. I'm sure you remembered how my father and I sponsored this hospital, now is the time for you to repay the Hartfords." Isaac said, with a deep smirk.
"Of course! Mr Hartford, you've really helped this hospital, and I'll do anything to repay you for your kindness; just name whatever it is."
"There is a patient that was brought here a few minutes ago together with me, all I need you to do is create a fake medical report and a fake identity for the patient." He said, looking down at his wristwatch; a few minutes from now, the Wilsons will be here, and also my parents, so prepare to answer their questions." He said, walked out of the office, and slammed the door with a loud bang.
...
A few minutes later, a Rolls-Royce stopped at the hospital entrance two figures rushed out of the car and headed into the hospital reception.
"Where is my daughter and Son-in-law?" Susan Clara's mother asked the receptionist.
