Snake Calendar, Year 2025
11th Day of August, Monday Early Morning
The Inner City of Nova Asta, Winchester Family Household
The morning sun peeked through the curtains as Accel groaned and sat up in bed. Today was his usual day in college for the second week of August, and he wanted to be on time and not be late. He stretched, grabbed his uniform from the closet, and went downstairs, where the smell of breakfast filled the air.
"Good morning, Older Brother Accel!" His younger brother Liam Winchester was so energetic usually saying morning greetings to his older brother and everyone else. His mother has just finished making breakfast which is Corned Beef, Fried Egg, Hot Chocolate, and prepared some Vitamis for good health. His father just started the daily news on the holographic television about today's news.
Jacob's younger brother was listening to game trends while having breakfast and Accel told him to stop playing and have breakfast properly as he heard, "Sorry, Big Bro Accel." Jacob apologized, and Accel accepted his apology. As everyone was finished, they went separate ways from the transportation hub to go to their school and work.

Accel always arrived before 9 am as he saw a few students arrive earlier than him while the rest of the students still entered the classroom. Some students entered the classroom, while others got the wrong classroom since they were still not used to remembering their schedules well.
Professor Lucan Ironwing from the Department of Historical Systems will start his second lesson with a deeper understanding of System Interfaces, their foundational structure, the process of activation, and customization options for attributes. Previously, on his first appearance at the class orientation, he talked about the Foundational Aspects of the System and its Historical Impact, today was talked more about the System itself.
He tapped a holographic panel on his lectern, projecting a System interface onto the large screen. "The System Interface is the bridge between an individual and their potential. It enables you to view your stats, manage your resources, and activate your skills efficiently. Let's break it down into its components."
Professor Lucan explained the User Interface (UI), which includes menus for stats, inventory, quests, and skills. He described how each section functions and emphasized the importance of understanding the finer details. "For instance, you'll often encounter hidden sub-menus that reveal advanced options as your system level increases. It's crucial to explore these interfaces thoroughly."
Moving to the next topic, Professor Lucan discussed the System's Foundation, a complex algorithm that combines ancient runic magic and advanced technology.
"Think of the System as an adaptive organism," Professor Lucan said. "It responds to your actions, learns from your behavior, and evolves alongside you. This is why understanding its foundation is pivotal to maximizing its potential."
The class learned about the Activation Process, which varied based on individual aptitude and experience. Professor Lucan provided a demonstration by summoning a simple defensive barrier through his System.
"Activation is a mental process that requires precision. It's not just about saying the skill's name—you must visualize the energy flow and direct it effectively. I don't understand why people prefer saying the skill name out loud when they could simply visualize it for a faster approach," Professor Lucan sighed.
He then moved on to the topic of attribute customization. "Attributes are the backbone of your growth," he explained, showcasing examples like Strength, Vitality, Agility, and Intelligence. "Allocating points wisely is crucial for your success. However, be cautious of diminishing returns if you focus too heavily on a single attribute. If you wish to reset your attributes, it is completely possible, but you'll need an item called the Attribute Reset, which has a Rare Tier rarity and can be quite expensive. Therefore, make sure to carefully consider how you allocate your attributes in the system."
As Professor Lucan's class ended earlier than scheduled, before 10:30 AM, everyone said their goodbyes to him. Some headed back to the cafeteria for a light snack, others proceeded to their next class, and some went home since they didn't have many other commitments. As for Accel, he still had class from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM, so he made his way to the designated classroom.
Unity College of System Studies, Main Lecture Halls (9103), Late Morning
As Accel arrived at his 10:30 AM class, some students were already present while others were still entering the classroom. Accel and the rest of the students were expecting the professor from the Department of Historical Systems to show up. Last week, the professor had been absent, and they hoped that he or she would be there this time so they could finally learn about the Fundamentals of System Ethics.
As the time reached 10.45 AM, the Professor finally made the appearance she made the introduction and apologized for why there was no assigned professor last week. "Ethics isn't about what's easy—it's about what's right. I'm Elara Nightshade, and in this class, we'll examine how even small decisions can ripple through the world. Be ready to defend your reasoning, because I won't let you off the hook easily."
According to the Unity College Guide Book, Professor Elara Nightshade has a sharp wit and a no-nonsense attitude, Professor Nightshade has a reputation for challenging students to think critically about the consequences of their actions. Her lectures often include real-world scenarios where the misuse of System abilities led to disaster.
"I apologize to all the students who were present during last week's first class orientation. Due to a lack of staff and professors, some classes were unavailable. We will now begin our first class orientation on the Fundamentals of System Ethics."
