Shawn kept an eye on Harmony for the next few days, seeing that her complexion had improved a lot, though he was unsure whether it was just makeup or not. He somehow felt relieved.
'Geez, if I don't genuinely wish to be her friend, then I wouldn't be as worried as I am now, right?'
He shook his head, 'Well, it was because of my characteristic that I also ended up being unable to get close to her. So who am I to question things?'
He scratched the back of his head. He was not so free as to keep thinking about befriending her. He may seem lax, but he was taking his course seriously despite his qualities.
He did not follow Dylan's way of taking up Advanced Placement during high school, as he wished to enjoy it for the time being. But now, he was actually taking more classes and was even planning to take up summer courses.
He wished to finish pre-med within 3 years and start going to medical school after that.
After all, just like Gabriel, he would also take another course once he was done with medicine. Though unlike Gabriel's, his would be a different field entirely—something he had been training for since he was a child.
Their family may not be applying too much pressure on the children when it comes to the family business, but they are still preparing the children for the future.
He wanted to become a proper doctor and was even planning to become a surgeon while managing their company, so he would be spending half his adulthood studying and training.
Because of this thought, other than his group of friends, he decided that he would focus more on his studies instead of trying to be close to every person out there.
Maybe this was his first step in outgrowing his over-the-top kindness.
As he started working on his assignments, he received a message from Kenneth.
'Help me.'
He frowned and called him.
"Shaaawwwwnnnnn!!!"
He instantly moved his ear away from the phone.
"Or should it still be Luca?" Kenneth suddenly thought and asked after shouting.
"Shawn is fine, and why did you have to shout?" Shawn replied with a shake of his head.
"Shawn, help me."
"And what was with that? How can you message just those two words?" he berated.
"You don't seem like you are in any danger at all," he added with a frown.
"Sorry about that," Kenneth scratched the back of his head.
"So, what is it?" Shawn asked, putting on his headset before continuing what he was doing.
"I need help. With the way I am now, I might fail my first year in this acting school. I need to learn more, but I do not know where I can go."
Shawn slightly furrowed his brows, "There are a lot of workshops there in City S."
"That's not it. What I need is a place or someone who can guide me. I am a blank canvas, and the only thing I have going is my confidence and charisma in front of people. But other than that, I have nothing."
Shawn stopped writing as he listened to Kenneth's words.
'Truly, you really are amazing in your own way,' he commented in his head.
Of course, he wouldn't say this out loud—he wouldn't allow Kenneth's head to grow bigger.
"I'll check on the people I know, but I can't promise anything," he replied instead.
"That is more than enough. I really did not wish to ask for your help, but then I have to find a way to improve. I cannot be left behind by my classmates."
"You are so competitive. Are you sure this is really for you?" Shawn chuckled.
"It is. Acting is surely for me," Kenneth replied without pause.
Shawn's brow raised, but he simply smiled while shaking his head.
"Good luck. I look forward to the day you are announced as the best actor."
"That is my goal. Anyway, I have some more training to do. I will wait for your update."
The phone call ended, and Shawn dialed another number.
"This is new," the other side said the moment the phone call connected.
Shawn laughed, "That's too much. I call and contact you from time to time."
"Yes, when you need something."
"Come on, Brother Dylan, it's not like those are the only times I called you."
"So why'd you call this time?" Dylan asked back.
"…"
Shawn was ready to speak but then realized that he was calling for the same reason Dylan had just said.
Dylan chuckled, "Just tell me."
Dylan was six years older than Shawn, and because of their close ties with each other's families, he treated Shawn as his younger brother.
Both of them had only one sister.
Shawn had an older sister, while he had a younger one.
And that was why the two of them, who dreamed of becoming doctors, became closer and treated one another as brothers.
"Well, I have a friend who dreams of becoming a good actor. But he only started now in his first year at university to actually try acting out. He wishes to find a good place in City S or maybe a teacher to help point out what he is lacking."
"A complete newbie?" Dylan asked directly.
"Yeah, he found this dream as we were about to graduate high school. Do you remember that play? He started wanting to become an actor because of how the actors performed there."
"Oh, that play you still have not told me who the writer was?" Dylan jokingly said.
"Well, the person will appear when the person is ready to appear," Shawn scratched the back of his head.
Dylan chuckled.
Even though he found that talent amazing—in the sense that they could write a story that could pull the viewers into watching closely despite the lack of capability of the actors—he still would not breach their privacy if they wished to keep quiet about it.
"How about the actress?" he finally found the chance to ask.
He kept forgetting about it even though he was pulled into her performance because of how she acted.
Shawn slightly furrowed his brows, "Why are you asking that now?"
