Chapter 86: Day To Day Life V

Emina is three years younger than him. People always say that he should have been the one to inherit the company, as it was the norm — him being the son and the eldest at that.

But why would Ashcroft listen to other people? It is not about who came out first or what gender the child has.

Emina was the one who took the reins of being the heir, that's it.

"AB? But the internet…"

She stopped in her tracks and turned when she heard a laughter she did not like too much.

"Geez, not everything on the internet is real."

Emina's brows furrowed upon seeing Minerva Morgrave in the hospital she was currently at.

Though they have a connection to this person, she really dislikes how haughty this person is.

"Emina?" Dylan called when he did not hear any reply from her.

"I have to go. I'll send you the details if I find a suitable one," she replied as she started walking again.

"Wha—"

Before Dylan could protest, Emina ended the call, in time for her secretary to come to her.

"How was the check-up? Is there something wrong? Are you sick?"

"Let's just leave. I have a meeting this afternoon."

"But Ma'am!"

"Anemia. Is that good enough, Gretchen?" Emina looked at her, albeit coldly.

Gretchen sighed in relief. She was already used to her young miss' coldness. She was more worried that Emina had collapsed moments ago after riding the car, so she could only take her to the nearest hospital.

"Then you need to rest more—"

"Just buy the medicines needed and we should go. I am late for a meeting," Emina interrupted her.

"Then we should tell—"

"And don't tell anyone. It is nothing major. Now go, I will wait in the car."

Gretchen could only sigh.

She had been with Emina for six years now, but just like when she first met her, Emina was as cold as always.

Keeping everything even from her family.

On the other hand, Dylan sighed while looking at his phone. Anyone can barely get through his sister's coldness. Though she never treated them harshly, she was living her whole life for the company, and he knew just how pained his parents were because of this.

Just as pained as he was. Emina was a workaholic through and through.

Weeks passed…

One day, Beatrice called Kathrine and Harmony in a group call.

"I… was kicked out of the acting group."

Silence followed.

"I… could not show them what I was able to show during my audition."

They heard her sniff.

"What do you plan then?" Kathrine asked her.

"I… don't know," Beatrice replied.

"You know I will support you no matter what, right?" Kathrine reminded her.

"I will support you unconditionally, whatever your decision will be, and I will push you forward."

Beatrice bit her lower lip. She knew very well that Kathrine would be there for her. And that is what she was most grateful for because she trusted that there was someone she could run to if everything got hard.

Someone who will help her calm down and decide for herself before supporting her unconditionally.

Of course not in negative decisions but in positive ones.

"Then…"

Both turned attentive when Harmony spoke.

"I will ask you this question, what is the importance of an acting group in your career?"

"Well…"

She thought hard about it before she started speaking about what she thought.

"Being in an acting group while studying at Juilliard is important for several reasons, especially since Juilliard is one of the most prestigious performing arts schools in the world."

Then she continued laying out everything that an acting group could give her for her career as an actress. Being in a group allows one to apply what they learn in class, practice different acting styles, and refine their craft through actual performances. At the same time, acting is rarely a solo effort.

Whether on stage or in film, one needs to know how to work with other actors, directors, and crew members. Being in an acting group teaches one teamwork, communication, and adaptability — essential skills for any professional actor.

Kathrine listened carefully as Beatrice's tone started becoming more enthusiastic while she spoke about what she could gain from an acting group.

A smile slowly tugged at her lips.

That's right.

Her unconditional support isn't all that Beatrice needed at this moment of weakness.

It was her confronting reality and facing it head-on that Kathrine herself would not be able to do.

She knew full well that the only one who could do this for Beatrice was Harmony, who had been confronting Beatrice with the reality of her situation.

Meanwhile, Beatrice continued listing what she could gain from an acting group.

"Juilliard provides incredible training, but being in an acting group gives you even more chances to perform. More performances mean more practice, which helps build confidence and stage presence."

Harmony listened silently to her.

In the entertainment industry, who one knows matters.

An acting group helps one build strong relationships with fellow actors, potential directors, and future collaborators. These connections could open doors for professional opportunities after graduation.

One can also get to try different roles without the pressure of formal grading. One can experiment with characters, genres, and performance styles, helping one discover what works best for them.

The professional acting world is highly competitive. Being in an acting group prepares one for auditions, rehearsals, and live performances in a way that regular classes alone might not. It also helps one build discipline and work ethic, both crucial for success.

"And having more acting credits on one's resume, even student-led performances, gives one an edge when applying for roles, agencies, or graduate programs. Casting directors look for experience, and every performance counts."

Beatrice said everything that an acting group could help her with, not just in the present but even in the future.
