Beatrice did as she had planned, moving from here to there in order to set her life in Juilliard straight.
She was able to find a part-time job in a nearby coffee shop and had found a scholarship to keep going.
As a daughter of a rich family, she was able to save up money separate from the bank her parents had set for her allowance. She knew she would need it someday, so she slowly kept some, such as money for her meals.
Instead of buying a meal amounting to a hundred, she would buy a meal amounting to fifty.
Together with this was the money she earned from two years of being a child actor.
Her family did not bat an eyelid at it because they deemed it too little, but for her back then, it was already a lot. They had thought she used the money for toys and snacks, but in reality, she had kept it all.
Because her intuition told her that she would need it in the future. Who would have thought that her intuition would be spot on?
That is why she can still manage to stay in Juilliard with a part-time job and scholarship.
And if she does better and lands a job in acting while still studying, she would be fine.
This is something that others would instantly discourage her from, but she herself has regained her long-lost confidence.
She is more than qualified, and that is why she can strive better because she has the capability to do it.
Harmony may sound like a double-edged sword, but for Beatrice, it is not. It won't cause her to be arrogant but has only given her more confidence.
With those two set in stone, she continued her observations towards ED.
But one day, upon seeing that LC would have a show, she came up with a thought and went in to buy a ticket.
On the day of the show, she entered the theater, and those who saw her that are part of LC were stunned.
What was she doing there?
Especially after declaring that she is more than qualified to be in LC. Samantha and the rest had already complained about her.
"What are you doing here?"
Beatrice looked up from the notebooks she was holding, a different one from when she was watching Echelon Dominion.
"Miss Marianne Brooks," she spoke of her name.
Marianne Brooks is the meticulous architect behind Limelight Collective's seamless stage operations, the stage director. With a reputation for her sharp organizational skills and an eye for flow and timing, she ensures every scene transitions effortlessly.
She was also the same person who was at the audition that Beatrice attended. The one who had high expectations after seeing her audition piece.
"Aren't you more than qualified to be here? What are you doing?" Marianne did not bother with any greeting.
"I am here to watch, isn't that obvious?" Beatrice asked back.
She was no longer shocked that these people heard what she said to Samantha and her clique.
Marianne squinted her eyes, she felt like she was looking at a different person.
The few weeks that Beatrice was with them, she was close to being timid and had low confidence.
"Are you going to be a critique again?" Marianne continued asking.
"Do you want me to?" Beatrice asked back.
There was even a slight smile causing Marianne to be inwardly shocked. This self-confidence, where did this suddenly come from?
"Don't worry, I am not here to criticize your performance. I am here to simply…"
Beatrice tapped the side of her eyes, "...watch."
Marianne blinked.
There was something when it came to Beatrice saying those words than when it came from the rest, even from Samantha.
She was about to open her mouth but then received a message. She gave Beatrice a warning look before leaving without saying anything more.
Beatrice shrugged.
She was not here to criticize. Instead, because she had seen what they were lacking during her time here, she also saw what strengths they had. That is why she decided to watch their show.
Because she would surely learn from here as well.
ED may have been the top, but LC also has a history, something she should not ignore just because she was kicked out from the place.
She is taking her career seriously, and those simple setbacks no longer have a chance of holding her back.
She will learn everything she can from this place, and once she returns to the country, she will show everyone that she did not need any familial background or her mother's name in order to become a top actress.
'To receive the award of best actress…'
'From your number one fan…'
A smile suddenly appeared on her lips when she remembered Kenneth's words to her.
'I guess I will surely aim for that award in the future,' she thought as the signal for the show to start was heard.
Her eyes turned sharp, and her hands became ready to write everything she could observe.
"Why did you call me then?"
Marianne returned to the backstage when she received a message from their Artistic Director, Gideon Hale.
But there was no problem at all.
Unlike ED, whose core members are mostly fourth years, here Samantha Sinclair and Gideon Hale are the only fourth-year students, while Marianne was a third year together with their production manager. The youngest was their technical director, who was only a second year.
"Stop looking for fault. It is true that we threw her out, and so it is also fine that she treats the group like that," Gideon said without looking at her but instead looking at the audience where Beatrice sat.
Gideon Hale is the seasoned creative force at the heart of his acting group. As Artistic Director, he shapes the vision behind every performance, blending bold concepts with emotional storytelling. His leadership balances artistic risk and structure, guiding the team to produce thought-provoking, visually striking shows.
