The atmosphere stayed strained, the burden of my disclosure weighing heavily on us all. I noticed the uncertainty glimmering in Marcus's eyes, the wary concern in Emilia's, and the shrewd intensity in Ryker's. They understood this altered everything—but whether it was for good or bad remained unknown.

Ryker let out a quick breath, brushing his fingers through his hair. "If your ideas are changing, we must determine how to manage them." "We cannot depend on anything uncertain during a conflict."
