Punching Power (Fixed)

"In practical Sanda sparring, footwork, punches, kicks, and throws are all indispensable!"

"Don't just focus on your punches—integrate your footwork into your movements!"

Coach Lu reappeared at the Sanda class, immediately launching into his usual stream of instructions.

"We've already covered footwork: shuffling steps, explosive steps, cross steps..."

"Now, I'll demonstrate each one again. Watch closely."

As he spoke, Coach Lu lowered his center of gravity, sinking into a horse stance with his knees bent forward. He executed a shuffling step into a straight punch.

The punch exploded with a thunderous roar, sending a chill through the spectators even though it didn't strike the heavy bag.

Next, he patiently broke down several techniques, reiterating key principles from previous lessons.

Finally, he silently observed the students resume their practice, assessing their progress.

"Zheng Qiang? Hopeless. It's like I'm talking to a wall."

"Yu Shan... A pity. His physical talent falls just short of Xu Dongtai's."

"Lin Hao... What's he even doing here? His progress is practically nonexistent..."

Shaking his head, Coach Lu had long grown accustomed to the mediocrity of most of his students.

After all, most of the people present were just casual enthusiasts, not even at the amateur level, so Coach Lu wasn't surprised.

"Hmm?"

Suddenly, his gaze shifted, spotting a figure not far from Lin Hao.

Whoosh!

A punch exploded forward, his right arm ramrod straight, his form impeccable.

Was that... the sound of air tearing?

Coach Lu's eyes narrowed as he continued watching.

The figure's sweat glistened as he threw powerful punches, his stance rock-solid.

Chopping fists, hooks, whip punches, shuffling steps, pivoting footwork... Each movement flowed seamlessly into the next, executed with practiced precision.

It was as if he were on the verge of mastering Sanda.

"How has this kid improved so much?" Coach Lu muttered, his brow furrowed as he watched Chen Feng's back.

Oblivious to the coach's scrutiny, Chen Feng continued his silent practice, his punches relentless.

Whoosh!

Sidestepping smoothly, he stepped forward and unleashed another straight punch.

[Progress +1!]

[Sanda: Beginner (69%)]

The notification popped up, and Chen Feng finally paused, panting for breath.

Huff! Huff!

Sweat streamed down his face, his soaked shirt clinging tightly to his muscles.

"Just as I thought... relying solely on talent won't get me anywhere."

Shaking his head inwardly, Chen Feng walked to the side, unscrewed his gray sports water bottle, and took a long swig.

Two hours of training had only increased his progress by one point. He had long since abandoned hope in his innate talent.

Yet, despite this, he refused to give up practicing.

Even if his progress was minimal, it was helping him better adapt to his rapidly improving physique. After all, his recent advancements had been almost too rapid.

Clap! Clap!

Just as this thought crossed his mind, the training session ended.

Coach Lu, who had been observing from a distance, withdrew his gaze and clapped his hands, reciting his usual closing remarks.

"That's all for today."

He paused, then decided to add a reminder. "The Martial Hall plans to expand its Core Disciple intake soon. You're all fortunate to be here at the right time."

"After this week's training concludes, the Hall will send examiners. Our class has only one Core Disciple slot available, so make sure you seize this opportunity."

His resonant voice echoed through the hall. Chen Feng sensed the surprise on most faces—they were clearly hearing this news for the first time.

A handful of individuals, however, like Lin Hao and Xu Dongtai, maintained their composure, betraying prior knowledge of the opportunity.

"See? I told you I was right," Lin Hao said with a smug grin.

Chen Feng raised an eyebrow, his curiosity about how Lin Hao had found out growing stronger.

"Don't ask. It's a secret," Lin Hao replied with a mysterious smile before heading to the locker room.

Shaking his head, Chen Feng soon followed suit, taking a shower and changing clothes.

By the time he emerged, many trainees had already left, including Lin Hao.

Without lingering, Chen Feng strode to a spacious area on the second floor.

The room was filled with exercise equipment: barbells, bench presses, squat racks, and more.

But the most striking feature was the boxing power testing machine at the center. Its rectangular body was painted crimson red, adorned with swirling flame patterns.

With few people around and eager to avoid drawing attention, Chen Feng quickened his pace until he stood before the machine.

Huff!

He took a deep breath, his eyes shining with determination.

He planted his left foot firmly on the ground, stepped back with his right leg, and braced himself, engaging his core and back muscles as he clenched his fist.

Boom!

!!

His fist whistled through the air, slamming into the red rubber target.

A muffled thud reverberated through the room, and moments later, a number flashed on the electronic display:

70kg!

The digits burned into his pupils. It was far higher than Chen Feng had anticipated.

"The improvement is this significant?"

Chen Feng's eyes shone as he instinctively lowered his gaze to his clenched fist.

While he still couldn't match Xu Dongtai's strength, he reminded himself that Xu had been blessed with exceptional physical gifts and a physique far superior to ordinary people.

In that moment, Chen Feng's heart swelled with a single word: satisfaction.

"Time to go home!"

His mood soaring, Chen Feng turned and strode out of the Martial Hall, eager to return to the Dream World and continue his treasure hunt.

As he disappeared, a few students emerged from the locker room and approached the punching machine to test their strength.

"Whoa, Brother Dong, someone just used this!"

"70 kilograms? That's some serious power!"

Zhou Xin, his face dotted with freckles, stood nearby, staring at the 70-kilogram reading on the display. A flicker of envy crossed his face before he quickly suppressed it.

This level of strength already matched the Amateur Second-Rank level, making the user a formidable trainee within the training hall.

Hearing this, Xu Dongtai narrowed his eyes, several figures flashing through his mind: Zheng Qiang? Yu Shan? Or perhaps another top student from the training hall?

He shook his head, dismissing these thoughts.

No matter who it was, the Core Disciple position was destined to be his alone! No one would dare snatch it away!

That afternoon, at four o'clock, Chen Feng, eager to get home early, suddenly remembered he was no longer unemployed. His steps quickened as he headed to the Yonglefu Supermarket near his residential complex, arriving right on time for his shift.

"You must be Xiao Feng," said the middle-aged woman behind the cash register. Her short, grayish-black hair framed a face with fine wrinkles but a healthy, rosy complexion. Despite wearing the red employee vest, she sported a delicate gold necklace around her neck.

"And you are...?" Chen Feng asked, puzzled, as he hadn't seen her during his morning shift.

"I'm He Xiuping. Just call me Aunt He," she replied with a smile. Chen Feng's confusion vanished as he realized she was the other cashier who shared his shift.

"Xiao Liu told me you agreed to take the evening shift. Thank you so much! I was afraid I'd have to find another job again."

"Here, take Aunt He's supermarket card. Use it freely—buy whatever you want if you get hungry tonight."

Aunt He was far more generous and amiable than Chen Feng had anticipated. Her gesture left him momentarily stunned. When he recovered, he hastily waved his hands in protest.

"Don't be shy," she insisted. "I hardly ever use this card anyway. It's just lying around."

"Well then, Xiao Feng, I need to pick up my grandson soon. The register's all yours now."

With that, Aunt He quickly changed out of her vest and hurried out of the supermarket.

Peering through the glass window, Chen Feng watched her go. This seemingly ordinary woman climbed into a luxury sedan worth hundreds of thousands of yuan and drove away.
