"You're answering a call while driving? Stop the car on the side before talking more." Her sharp voice exploded in my ears. You fool, Lyla, always saying things that land you in trouble, I scolded myself.

"Alright, I'll stop, but I was talking through Bluetooth," I tried to defend my actions.

"It's still a distraction while driving, Little Miss," she retorted sharply.

"Now, what is it you called for?" I asked as I stopped on the side of the road.
