Silence.

No one raised their sign.

"$200 million going once… $200 million going twice… and this exquisite ring is sold at $200 million!"

The final strike of the gavel sealed the deal, and the entire hall buzzed with murmurs.

"Lyla, who is this insane person? $200 million?" Rose turned to me, eyes wide in disbelief. "You could buy a penthouse in the most expensive area of the city with that kind of money, and someone just spent it on a ring!"

I was just as surprised, though maybe not as much as her.

"Who knows if it's even a man?" I shrugged. "It could be a woman who has a thing for vintage jewelry."

Rose huffed. "Man or woman, one thing is clear—the person is loaded. They just need an excuse to spend money."

I chuckled at her words.
