"Geez, why won't he stop bothering me?" Sean sneered as he pressed the call end button on his phone twice in a row before turning the phone on silent mode. He then turned helplessly to gaze at Kalix, who remained unconcerned and continued to read something in the tabloid in his hand.
"Boss, Mr. Grayson is not going to give up. Initially, his assistant attempted to contact us, and now the CEO himself," Sean stated.
"So what do you want me to do? Go explain why I decided to terminate the contract. Kalix asked Sean, who shook his head sharply.
Sean understood why Kalix wanted to terminate the contract abruptly, regardless of the money he had spent on the project. For him, there was only one rule: upset him and you will face the worst, and money was the least of his concerns.
A person who amassed billions in an instant was not burdened by minor losses. Moreover, he wanted to teach David a lesson for raising his hand to his woman.
Sean tightened his lips and glanced ahead, not debating anymore.
They soon arrived at the company and used the private elevator to their office. Sean proceeded to provide information on the meeting throughout the ride, and by the time they arrived at the meeting, everyone appeared to be waiting for him.
Kalix greeted everyone with a brief nod before settling into his executive seat.
"Let's start the annual meeting," he instructed the presenter, and the meeting began shortly thereafter.
Dianna, the head of the Finance Department, continued the meeting for the second half, eventually closing it on a positive note.
After the meeting Kalix was about to leave when Dianna stopped him.
"Kalix," she said, smiling. As she handed him a file, she couldn't help but notice his handsomeness.
"This document needs your validation."
Kalix stared at the file in her palm and gave Sean a piercing look before swiftly taking it from her and smiling.
"Actually, I also wanted to discuss a few points with you," she reported.
Kalix was annoyed by Dianna's constant attempts to get close to him, whether through work or just casually. But, as usual, he avoided talking to her.
"Sean will listen to your perspective," he uttered before pivoting and departing.
Dianna stared at the closed door before Sean's courteous voice shattered her daze.
"Miss Dianna, shall we discuss your questions?" he asked, and she feigned a smile while nodding in agreement.
Kalix strode through the threshold, his gaze immediately halted on Lilac's cabin. He let out a long, dejected sigh. As soon as he realized she wasn't inside, he immediately pulled out his phone and called her.
When she refused to answer, Kalix scowled and stormed away in annoyance.
"Phew... that was close," Lilac sighed, immediately shoving her phone back into her pocket and exiting the elevator.
Her heels clicked as they moved through the corridor, eventually coming to a halt in front of a door.
An air of apprehension rushed across her face, but she immediately dismissed it and smiled.
"There is nothing wrong with what you're doing, Lilac. I am sure this will assist me in escaping my grandfather's anger."
Reaching for the doorbell, she punched the button, and the door soon opened, but the person standing before her left her dumbfounded.
"Stanley, is that you?" She broke out laughing, her eyes fixed on the man with blush on his cheeks and two small ponytails with pink bows on his head. He looked like a doll.
Stanley stood immobile, losing face in front of the wrong person. But he soon composed himself.
"Ahem, yes, it's me," he responded in his robotic voice, prompting Lilac to go for his cheeks as she pinched them.
"So sweet," she remarked, admiring his beauty, but her admiration was short-lived as another voice drew her attention.
"Uncle Stanley, is that Mom?" Seren dashed towards the door, only to discover that it wasn't Winter who had returned, but someone else she didn't recognize.
"Aeeeeeee... is this my cute little niece?" Lilac pushed Stanley aside and bent before Seren, who blinked her eyes in confusion.
"Uncle, who is this aunt?" She asked, shying away from Lilac's dazzling look.
"Oh, my cute baby, this is your aunt Lilac, your father's sister." Lilac, unable to contain her delight, swiftly took Seren up in her arms.
The moment she said her father's name, Seren beamed, flashing her sweet smile.
"You are my aunt!" she exclaimed, and Lilac affirmed before leaning in to peck her chubby cheeks.
Seren giggled, feeling ticklish. "Yes," she answered.
Lilac was finally able to meet Seren and she couldn't help but love her.
"You know, the day I discovered that my brother has a daughter, I was eager to meet you." Lilac caressed Seren's head affectionately.
"Aunt Lilac, do not die. I'm here; you can see me as much as you want." Seren's sweet words flattered Lilac and she hugged her tightly. Despite the fact that her brother was exceedingly distant, he was able to produce the most adorable daughter in the world.
Stanley, standing there, exhaled with a sense of relief. Seren finally had someone to distract herself with.
'Does that mean I can finally get rid of all these? He gazed up at his two adorable ponies, ready to remove them when Seren called.
"Uncle Stanley, Aunt Lilac wants to help me with your make-up," his lips twitched, and he turned back to face them without saying anything.

Winter stepped out of the car, her face depressed after reading the response from her workplace. She had sent an email to her workplace requesting an extension of her leave, but they plainly rejected it.
Although Winter was aware of her presence at work, no company would want to retain a subpar employee.
'I am sorry, Miss Winter; you either resumed your work on the specified day or opted to leave the company.'
She sighed and entered the elevator. She was having an internal conflict. She wanted to keep her job, but she also wanted to stay here. She may just not be able to abandon her grandfather and flee like a coward.
"I don't think I'll be able to continue working there," she said, disappointed.
Ding~
The door opened, and Winter walked towards her room, only to hear someone scream inside.
The sound alarmed her. Winter pulled out the card to open the door, only to have a pillow land right in her face.
