Kalix couldn't help but laugh at her cuteness and ask, "Are we creating an art Angel?"
Winter glared at him, his smile irritating her, but she ignored it and returned her attention to her task.
"If you want us to stay, follow these conditions, or I won't work for you." Winter stated clearly, leaving no space for negotiation.
She had thought about it. Now that Kalix had agreed to assist her, she did not think it impossible for her to move in with him.
Furthermore, she wanted Seren to get to know her father better since she did not want them to be separated.
Back then, Winter didn't care who her child's father was, and she didn't anticipate him to come looking for them. It was entirely her decision to have a one-night stand with the stranger she met at the pub, and it wasn't wholly his fault that he got her pregnant.
Kalix studied Winter, who continued to write. Her serene demeanor put his heart at ease.
Once she was finished, Winter handed him the paper.
"Read them and then sign down," she said, making him chuckle as he grabbed the paper from her hand and read it.
Kalix bobbed his head thoughtfully, his lips slightly pouting, and added, "Everything is fine, but do you think you'll be able to sleep alone, Angel? I mean, you could barely resist my charm; sleeping alone in another room will be inconvenient when I can simply slip inside."
Winter's lips twitched at his presumptuous comment. He thought too highly of himself because she would never do it.
Taking her one needy move gave him the sense that she would keep doing it.
'In his dreams' she snapped out at him.
"Then forget that we're even moving in," she responded, evidently upset by his remark.
Winter was merely doing what she needed to do. If she hadn't run out of resources, she would not have considered listening to him.
Kalix smiled and nodded. "Okay, I won't say anything, but I would like you to think carefully about sleeping in separate rooms," he added, pulling out a pen from his pocket and signing the adorable little contract.
Winter kept looking at him, and when he finished, she followed suit.
"So shall we move now?" Kalix replied, placing the pen in his pocket.
Kalix couldn't wait to get things done now that he could bring his woman and child along.
Winter, on the other hand, rolled her eyes at him before declining. "No, we can't right now," she replied, yawning. "Star is sleeping, and so am I," she said, turning toward her room.
"Just close the door before you leave," she urged, making her way into the bedroom and closing it.
Thud
"..."
Kalix blinked as he struggled to grasp what had happened, but then a smile appeared on his lips and he shook his head helplessly.
"Angel, you truly are exceptional," he whispered, then swiftly turned away.

[Rosewood Mansion]
The next morning, everyone gathered at the breakfast table. Everyone in the household had to follow it, except Kalix, who lived elsewhere.
"So, what are your thoughts on the man you met yesterday? Do you like him?" Sylvester inquired, casting an inquisitive look at Lilac, who returned his stare.
Lilac noticed everyone's gaze on her, prompting her to retreat in her seat.
"I'm not sure; maybe we should meet more to get to know each other," she remarked, calming the old man.
It was surprising to learn that, out of thirty blind dates, she had rejected at least one interest of hers. Why wouldn't he?
More than that, he felt relieved that she chose not to run away as she had in the past.
"Good to hear that you are finally taking it seriously." Sylvester pointed.
He was convinced that Damien Smith would capture her attention because he was not only trustworthy and mindful but also a childhood buddy.
Lilac had always felt comfortable around people she knew, so it made sense that she had blindly rejected the guys he had previously chosen for her because she didn't know them well.
"I'll inform Smith about it," Sylvester responded swiftly, returning to his breakfast.
Rita, who was also sitting there, suddenly spoke. "Grandpa, what about Kalix and Dianna? Will you honestly accept the woman he spoke of?"
Roger stared at Rita, her lips pursed. He had already cautioned her not to bring up the topic again and again, but instead of listening, she insisted on going against him.
Sylvester found himself in a difficult situation. Kalix's caution sparked his anxiety of never meeting his great-granddaughter again.
He understood that Kalix was unyielding, his words unambiguous, and once he declared his intention to wed his child's mother, there was no turning back.
"I don't think there's anything we can talk about, Rita. Kalix has already made his decision, and we know there is nothing we can do to change his mind."
Sylvester's remarks felt like a slap in the face, and she clenched her teeth, realizing what he meant to say.
"But what about the promise you made to my parents?" she inquired, raising the tension between them.
Sylvester was aware of Dianna's feelings for Kalix for a long time and pledged to marry them. Even her parents were looking forward to the alliance, as they saw Kalix as a potential match for their daughter.
But the old man was abruptly retracting his statements.
"Wasn't it only a one-night stand? Why is Kalix being so responsible to that woman?" Rita said. She couldn't comprehend why a one-night affair evolved into such an important circumstance that Kalix was willing to marry that woman.
Lilac listened intently to all the words spoken. "Sister-in-law, you're getting everything wrong. It might have been a one-night stand, but it left them with a child, and as the father, he had to be accountable for them."
Rita clenched her jaw and stared viciously at Lilac.
"Enough with you both," Slyverter said, cutting them off. He then glanced at Lilac and said, "Apologize."
Lilac was astounded by his statements, but she couldn't bring herself to argue and apologized immediately.
"I'm sorry," she said.
Rita scoffed mentally. She knew the old man would always support her; after all, she was the eldest and most favored by him.
Lilac, unable to stay any longer, grabbed her bag and left without eating her breakfast.
Roger also found the situation unpleasant and chose to leave.
"I'll also take my leave," he remarked before walking away, leaving the two of them alone.
Rita couldn't comprehend her husband. He was like the inconspicuous person who barely noticed what was going on in the house and would agree with anything Sylvester decided.
But it doesn't mean she will let him consent to it. She will not let her sister suffer when, all along, she was looking forward to marrying Kalix.
