"You are not going to open the door," Winter snapped, warning Kalix to remain seated on the bed.
Kalix looked at Winter with a playful glint in his eyes. He never imagined that such a bold woman as her would ever find herself frightened by her own daughter, and for what reason?
"No, I won't allow my daughter to wait outside," he said, ignoring her warning as he rose to his feet.
Winter sensed that the gods were exacting punishment upon her for even entertaining the idea of spending time with this devil. And even before she could come up with a solution, a sleepy voice called her attention.
"Mommy, why did you leave me alone?" Seren gazed at Winter while being held in her father's arm. She awoke to the sight of the vacant bed and swiftly went in search of her mother in her father's room.
"Did you both ditch me just to sleep together?" she asked with a sad pout.
