I yanked my wrist, trying to pull free, but his grip didn’t budge. “Let me go,” I cried, surprised by how weak I sounded but for goodness sake, this is an elementary school restroom hallway, meaning anyone might walk in at any moment.

“No.” He leaned in, his breath warm against the side of my neck. My skin prickled as my toes curled, I hated how my body reacted without my permission. “You’re mine,” he whispered, “Every part of you, your fear, your silence, even that defiance you’re clinging to. It’s all mine. And I’m not about to let anyone else touch or have what belongs to me. Not the world, not even yourself.”

"What in the hell is going on? What are these?" Mateo screamed as he backed away, his eyes not leaving the sight in front of us.

"Damned snakes!" The other two screamed out of the awareness that just dawned on them.

The moment Mateo reached the door he tried opening earlier, he pushed at it with even greater strength but it refused to bulge.

So there's basically no way out of here unless it was through the front door, which definitely must be a bad idea right now due to the fact that the beast must be everywhere outside to prevent any escape.

And when Mateo was backed against the locked door with nowhere to go, he turned, cocking his gun, ready to shoot.
