Kain Locke

My eyes locked with Alec's. The same quietness surrounded him, just like the first time I saw him in the hall during my homecoming. Back then, I hadn't suspected anything, although I noticed how people instinctively avoided the space beside him. And now, seeing it happen again, I realized that this definitely must not be the first time and by the look of things, he must be used to it.

He looked slightly different from the last time I saw him.

I tore my gaze away, breaking the trance. My skin still crawled at the memory of that day, his frenzied expression, those wild, possessed-looking eyes. I don't want to think about it.

"Listen up!" one of the instructors called out, bringing my attention back to him. I almost forgot we're called here for a reason.

"Move closer, you're not here to chatter idly, so come on, closer."

People grumbled, but nevertheless moved closer to where they were standing,
