[The Iron Mantis is interested in becoming your tamed beast!]

[Do you accept?]

====

Theo didn't move his hand from the mantis's big head. In front of him, small notifications had appeared.

Not only the Iron Mantis was still docile towards him, but it was offering to be tamed on it's own?

Without further waiting, he accepted the request.

The mantis's already bright body shone even brighter, and all the shining energy condensed into a glowing orb.

The orb of energy slowly came near Theo until it reached his chest and stopped.

Theo waited for it. He already knew how these things went. The orb soon but slowly moved forward until it entered Theo's chest.

DING!

All the messages appeared one after another, and Theo read through them, smiling in surprise.

He could now clearly feel the bond between the mantis and himself.

At first, the Iron Mantis was like a pet to Theo, but after the taming process, it had now become more than just a pet. It was a tamed beast, one Theo would have to rely on until he reached Level 5.

Before he could think too deeply about the 'Evolution Potential' and 'Evolution Information' and what they might mean, Theo blinked one more time, and he was back in his Terrarium Room again.

He looked around with surprise and satisfaction in his eyes. The transition between the mantis's consciousness and the real world had been so smooth that Theo couldn't help but marvel at it.

His gaze remained on the Iron Mantis. It was in the same position as when he had left, still staring at Theo. Now, it began tapping on the box's wall, as if trying to tell Theo something.

Theo didn't act immediately. Instead, he thought about the mantis's strength, and a status screen larger than before appeared before him.

The status screen was so large that Theo had to move his neck up and down to take it all in.

As he read through the details, his expression shifted from curiosity to a frown.

'Evolution Potential not Detected?' he thought, his eyebrows arching.

'Just now, in the mantis's consciousness, the artifact said my affinity resonated with it… so what does it mean by 'not detected?' He tried making sense of the situation.

"But the Evolution Information says 'unknown' for everything… 'unknown' could mean there's still something that can be discovered…" Theo muttered while trying to look on the bright side, even if he had to force it.

If the mantis was tamable for him and the artifact said it resonated with his affinity, then it had to mean something.

To ensure he didn't forget anything from the mantis's consciousness, Theo wrote it all down. Only after writing did he finally feel relieved.

"Well, Mantis. There's no time to be depressed about this evolution stuff. How about we try getting some experience points?" Theo said aloud, and just as he did, the mantis went into its fighting pose.

This surprised Theo, but he chuckled anyway. He brought out another rat and placed it inside the box, leaving the lid completely open.

It was time for the mantis to upgrade from its small enclosed home.

The moment the mantis saw the rat, it shifted its fighting stance toward it.

Theo opened its status screen once more, realizing he'd forgotten the name of its skill.

'Metallic Strike,' he mentally commanded, and in the next second, the mantis became a blur, appearing in front of the rat and digging its sharp, saw-like forelegs into it.

SQUEAKK!

The curious and pitiful rat screamed in agony, and Theo himself was stunned.

'Using mental commands is so different from just reading about it,' Theo thought, unable to suppress a grin as he watched the bloody scene.

"Iron Mantis, make some distance!" Theo shouted, his mood lifting.

The mantis first looked back at Theo and then at the rat before digging its forelegs in even deeper.

Theo chuckled awkwardly. "Looks like I'll have to train you first,"

Just like before, the mantis fought casually, making a bloody mess of the rat.

It took even less time than before, and to Theo, it seemed like the Iron Mantis had already figured out a pattern in the rat's attacks.

Each time the rat tried to bite the mantis, the mantis would use its agility and nimble legs to dodge effortlessly.

Theo could tell the rat was nearing its end. "Iron Mantis, STOP!" he shouted.

The mantis, however, couldn't yet understand Theo's commands. It continued attacking the rat primitively, slashing it repeatedly with its forelegs and even biting its face.
