Chapter 64: Uncovering the Truth

The city lights sparkled in the distance as Tang Xiu and Lei Xian entered the bustling streets. Despite the late hour, the city was alive with activity. Cars honked, vendors called out to customers, and the aroma of street food filled the air.

Lei Xian's stomach growled loudly, breaking the silence. "Boss, how about we grab something to eat? I'm starving after all that excitement."

Tang Xiu nodded, his mind still preoccupied. "Go ahead. I need to think."

They stopped at a small food stall on the corner of the street. The old vendor greeted them with a warm smile. "What'll it be, young men?"

Lei Xian ordered a bowl of steaming noodles while Tang Xiu remained silent, his sharp eyes scanning the surroundings. Even here, among the noisy crowd, his instincts stayed alert.

"Boss, aren't you eating?" Lei Xian asked between mouthfuls.

Tang Xiu shook his head. "I'll eat later. For now, we need to find out who sent those assassins. We're not dealing with amateurs."

Lei Xian frowned, slurping his noodles. "You think it's the Yan Clan?"

"Who else?" Tang Xiu replied. "Yan Ruoxue was too eager to involve us. She's hiding something, and now we've got assassins on our trail."

Lei Xian wiped his mouth and stood up. "So, what's the plan? Confront her?"

"Not yet," Tang Xiu said. "We need leverage first. If we go in blind, we'll only play into her hands."

He looked around, his gaze falling on a tall building with a bright neon sign that read Silver Dragon Nightclub.

"That place," Tang Xiu said, pointing. "It's where the Yan Clan's younger generation gathers. We might find some loose lips there."

Lei Xian raised an eyebrow. "A nightclub? Isn't that dangerous?"

"Dangerous?" Tang Xiu smirked. "Only for them."

The two of them crossed the street and entered the nightclub. Inside, the air was thick with the smell of alcohol and sweat. Loud music pulsed through the room as colorful lights danced across the crowd.

Tang Xiu moved with purpose, his presence commanding even in the chaotic environment. People instinctively stepped aside as he passed, sensing the authority he carried.

Lei Xian followed closely, his eyes darting nervously. "Boss, are you sure about this? We don't exactly blend in."

"We're not here to blend in," Tang Xiu replied. "We're here to get answers."

They approached the bar, where a group of young men and women sat laughing and drinking. Their expensive clothes and haughty demeanor made it clear they were from influential families.

Tang Xiu leaned casually against the bar, his sharp eyes locking onto one of the men—a young master with an arrogant smirk and a Yan family crest pinned to his chest.

"Are you from the Yan Clan?" Tang Xiu asked, his voice calm but commanding.

The young man looked up, his smile fading. "Who's asking?"

"Tang Xiu," he said simply.

The name caused a ripple of unease among the group. The young master narrowed his eyes. "What business do you have with the Yan Clan?"

Tang Xiu's smirk deepened. "I'm here to talk about the assassins you sent after me."

The man stiffened, his hand gripping his glass tightly. "I don't know what you're talking about."

"Lying doesn't suit you," Tang Xiu said, his tone cold. "If you value your life, start talking."

The young master's friends shifted uncomfortably, sensing the tension. One of them whispered, "Who is this guy? He's got guts to come here."

The young master forced a laugh, though his voice shook. "You think you can walk in here and threaten me? Do you know who I am?"

Tang Xiu didn't answer. Instead, he raised a single finger. In an instant, a faint ripple of energy surged through the air. The glass in the young master's hand shattered, and shards fell to the floor.

The group gasped, their faces pale with fear.

"Do you know who I am?" Tang Xiu asked, his voice low and dangerous.

The young master trembled, beads of sweat forming on his forehead. "W-We didn't mean to attack you! It wasn't our idea! Please, spare me!"

"Then whose idea was it?" Tang Xiu pressed, his eyes narrowing.

"It was… it was the elders!" the young master blurted out. "They ordered it. They're afraid you'll disrupt their plans!"

Tang Xiu leaned closer, his gaze like a blade. "What plans?"

"I-I don't know the details," the young master stammered. "Something about a treasure. They've been searching for it for years. That's all I know, I swear!"

Tang Xiu straightened, his expression unreadable. "If I find out you're lying, I'll be back. And next time, there won't be a warning."

The young master nodded frantically, his face ashen.

Tang Xiu turned and walked away, Lei Xian trailing behind him.

"Boss," Lei Xian said once they were outside, "do you believe him?"

"Partially," Tang Xiu replied. "He's too scared to lie outright, but he doesn't know everything. The elders are hiding something, and I intend to find out what."

As they disappeared into the night, the faint sound of music from the nightclub faded behind them. Tang Xiu's eyes gleamed with determination.

The Yan Clan had made their move. Now, it was his turn.
