Sword Shattering Aura Test!

A few minutes later, Celina arrived at the dwarf village. The dwarves were visibly surprised to see her there. Their chief stepped forward, and she lowered her head to meet his gaze.

Secretly, she was thrilled to be taller than them.

"What is a human like you doing here?"

"Ah! Lord Aetherius asked that you forge a sword for me from this," she said, pulling out the dragon scale. The chief's eyes widened at the sight of it.

The dwarves began mumbling among themselves. It had been so long since they started living together in the Lost City, yet Aetherius had never given his scale to anyone.

And now, after all this time, he had chosen a human to make a weapon from his dragon scale.

Clearing his throat, the chief took the dragon scale from her, examining it carefully while stroking his beard.

"Come with me. I'll have to check your aura before deciding what kind of sword suits you" he said, leading the way to his workshop.

Celina followed behind and entered into the workshop.

The chief picked up a sword and tossed it at her.

"That's one of my finest creations, go ahead and manifest your aura. Then swing it" he instructed.

"...Okay" she replied, wrapping her fingers around the handle.

She hadn't used her aura during training over the past few days since she was journeying from the fairy realm to the elves' village. That was because the sword wasn't able to handle her aura.

As she had been warned, her aura grew denser and more powerful as she got stronger. It was powerful enough to cause casualties that couldn't be easily healed.

That was the same thing that happened with Clyde.

"Maybe I shouldn't use it on people... unless they deserve it", she muttered.

Taking a quick stance, she raised the sword. She shut her eyes and swung it immediately.

She was thinking of making a few swings, but the sword shattered, just after the first one.

The chief shot his mouth and eyes wide open.

"No way!" He yelled, grabbing another sword.

"Use this! There's no way it'll shatter"

"Um...okay," she said repeating the same process.

The second sword shattered.

Then the third.

The fourth.

The fifth.

The sixth.

The chief finally gave up.

"I swear on my name, I'll forge you a sword that can be able to withstand your aura! Return within a week" he declared, with fire in his eyes.

Celina watched him march towards the furnace to start making the sword.

.

.

Celina went back to the elves' village and found out that Eira had returned.

The moment Eira saw her, she burst into tears again. They retreated to her treehouse.

"You see, I just got back and brought a lot of things for you. I wasn't able to celebrate your birthday with you for the past four years; I hope you'll accept them, Celina," Eira said, gesturing to a wooden box in the corner.

Celina opened it and saw a lot of expensive-looking things she had never seen, even in her past life as Mallory.

A space pouch, a few elegant dresses, hair bows and more.

"Thank you, Eira" she replied, closing the box.

"You've finally earned the door sign, congratulations. I suppose it's time I explained everything to you" Eira said.

"Yes!" Celina clenched her fist, with excitement. That was what she had been dying to hear. She'll be able to learn everything without punishment.

"I don't know where to begin, Celina, so I'll start from when we all found ourselves here. We never planned to move to the Lost City. The Dark Forest was where we all inhabited, but something happened a few decades ago. We all found ourselves here after the dungeon appeared in the empire. At first, we didn't know where we were, but after a few humans found their way in here, through the dungeon boss door, Aetherius set up a barrier to keep them out"

"I... I don't understand" Celina shook her head.

"Of course, you're too young to understand. The dungeon that appeared holds the door to our world. Aetherius, being the strongest among us, keeps the key, allowing us and the others to travel between the dungeon and the Lost City. We must protect the dungeon and ensure humans never set foot here. That's why Clyde and the others find their way out there to fight off intruders. It'll be disastrous if humans ever find us" she explained.

"The humans are your enemies, right?" Celina asked.

"Yes, they are. They kidnapped my older sister, who was the queen of the elves and also, Clyde's mother. They also took a few of our kind, turning them into slaves and playthings. If anything, I want to rescue my sister before Clyde comes of age" she spoke with sadness in her voice.

Celina touched her chin. She thought Clyde was already an adult, but he's not.

"How are you sure she's alive?"

"There's no way she would let herself be killed by humans. My sister is alive and I know it. I've tried to save her, but I've failed several times"

"Oh..." Celina could only manage to say a single word at that moment.

Eira cleared her throat and continued explaining.

"Just as the elves were kidnapped by humans, a group of humans called the Hero Party, also killed Lyra's partner, the demon king. A nobleman was hailed as the Dragon Slayer after slaying Aetherius' partner. He couldn't defeat Aetherius but he managed to blind him with his sword.

Celina shot her eyes wide open when she heard that.

The Dragon Slayer.

She knew who that person was.

It was her father when she was Mallory. The same man that threw her out of the house, for being an illegitimate child. He was called the Dragon Slayer.

'Ah! Is this a good sign?'

She wondered as she rubbed her temple with her small fingers.

"Celina? Are you listening?" Eira asked her. She snapped back to reality and nodded her head.

"Yes, Eira"

"I guess this is too much for you to take in at once. We'll talk more some other time when you're older. For now, get some rest. You've been training non-stop for four years, I'm worried about your health"

"I'm fine Eira. The faster I train, the sooner I can help everyone get their revenge. That's the reason I'm being trained in the first place" she said with a polite smile.

But, Eira could feel the disappointment in her voice.

Everyone saw Celina as a tool, a human weapon. Since they couldn't get their revenge on the humans themselves, they had to use a human who could infiltrate and strike from within.

"I have to make a report to Aetherius. Make sure you rest, Celina" she said and walked away.

Celina clenched her fist.

Just as she thought, she was being used.

But she was also using them to grow stronger and exact her own revenge.

Humans were her enemies, but not all of them. Only the bad ones.

While to these creatures... They considered everyone as their enemies. The young, the old, the innocent ones and even the guilty ones.

She lay flat on the bed with her hand over her forehead.

"I'm already eleven years old and I'll be twelve in a few months. I'll start my training with Aetherius next week and end it within a year. By then, I'll leave this place" she murmured.

'Stats!'

She called and a screen appeared before her.

A soft hum escaped from her lips.

'Even with all this, the system still claims I'm still weak. Just how strong do I have to be to defeat my father. What if I'm already strong enough?'

She wondered as she rolled to the other side of the bed, yawning.

"I guess we'll find out in a week"

.

.

And so, a week later...

Celina had locked herself in the treehouse, not wanting to leave. She didn't know what was going on outside. Eira had been telling her to go out for the past few days.

And she finally did. All eyes turned to her. The elves' whispered amongst themselves, pointing their fingers at her.

"What if she's a half-demon or half-elf? I mean, no one was able to heal him, not even Eira"

"How can a young human like her be so powerful?"

"I'm scared. What if she ends up betraying us and we all die because of her?"

"She's a monster. Those red eyes of hers take ten years off your lifespan once she looks at you"

Celina clenched her jaw, ignoring them.

'Did Eira want me to come out just to listen to these people? How unlucky!'

She went to get her sword before she started her training. She arrived at the dwarves' village and the chief was out there, waiting for her.

He saw Celina coming and stroked his long beard with his eyes closed.

"Ahem! You're finally here, child" he said.

"Ah! Yes," she answered with an indifferent look on her face.

Unlike the elves, the dwarves looked like they hadn't heard the news about her healing Aetherius. Everyone avoided her on their way here, but the other dwarves gathered around, eager to see if the chief's new sword could withstand her aura.

With a proud grin, the chief presented the sword, together with its scabbard. Celina reached out and took it.

The sword was black, sleek and well-balanced. Its handle and part of the blade were made with red magic stones, which was super rare.

"Go ahead and try it!" He urged.

Celina gripped it tight and was amazed. It was light and better than other swords she held before. She made a single swing and waited for it to shatter, but nothing happened. The dwarves started to cheer already.

A slow smirk crept onto the chief's face.

"Hmph!" He turned his head away, clearly pleased with himself.

Celina went ahead to test it further, performing a series of swings. The blade cut through the wind effortlessly as she moved. She ended it abruptly and stared at it.

"I like it," she said, simply.

"Of course, you should! I made it! Hahaha!" He laughed and handed her a leather belt, with several daggers attached.

"You'll need these. You learnt assassin skills from those green shorties, huh?"

"You mean, goblins?" She asked and he waved his hand dismissively.

"Yeah, them. Take these and use them well!"

"Thank you" she lowered her head in gratitude.

"No, thank you. You healed lord Aetherius. You have potential, I'm proud of you, kid" he said, tapping her shoulders. The other dwarves stared in shock, hearing those words coming out of the chief's mouth. He rarely complimented people.

Noticing their glares on him, he huffed and turned away from Celina.

"If you're done now, you should get going" he went back to his workshop.

Celina secured her her sword at her waist and left.

She loved the sword. It was a longsword, black, and the red magic stone on it, resonated with her aura.

'Perfect'

"I guess I should head over to lord Aetherius' palace and begin my training" she muttered.

.

.

Celina arrived at the palace door and almost barged in. She saw everyone there, gathered around the table. Their glares were fixed on her. Celina took a step back

"I'll come back; I'm sorry-" She wanted to close the door before she heard Aetherius' voice.

"Enter!"

"...okay" she hesitated before entering.

She stood by the door and heard footsteps getting closer to her.

"You've gotten your sword, huh?"

"Yes, I have," she responded.

"Then I assume you're ready!" He added. She raised her head to look at him. He was no longer covering his eyes with the piece of fabric. His silver eyes were looking down at her before he placed his large hand on her shoulder.

"Eira must have told you about our duty, which is to protect the dungeon. There'll be an attack soon. So, join the others and defend the dungeon"

Celina stiffened.

"...Me?"

"Yes, you, Celina. I'm counting on you" he said, with a smile.

Her heart pounded.

She was going to fight against humans for the first time.

She was going to kill humans.

She had been training for years for this and she knew she was strong.

But, was she ready?

Her hands curled into a fist as she lowered her head.

'Will I be able to do this?'
