Kaden paused for a moment and then resumed his run. He did not have time to act as a savior for every damsel in distress. "On second thoughts…" He suddenly stopped. The shriek was actually coming from a known location. The scourge of the forest lived in that direction.

In his last life, he only barely escaped from getting mauled to death by that beast. The fear instilled by that beast was still crystal clear in his mind. It was a seed of self-doubt he couldn't shake no matter how much he leveled after that.
