It's been 2 years since I switched institutes. Aunt Dara got the message from the Institute of Arts and Crafts, she supported me saying if it was what I wanted.
Tearing the box apart, I freed the mass of baked condiments and frosting. A small bento cake sat on the counter before me. Two huge numbers '18' with wicks above them stationed upon them. At the base was written 'Mama loves you'
I rushed for my phone and dialed her number. It's been years I had seen her. She wouldn't let me come home, even went as far as placing a restriction zoid space on me. If I was a meter close to home, I would be swallowed by an astral space and sent back here, to my Aunt's place.
The dial tone rung for a while but no one picked. I began sobbing as I tried again.
Please just pick up
Again.
Again.
Again.
Again.
Again.
I sunk to the floor, my eyes cloudy as tears poured. Without thinking I picked my jacket and ran out of the house, my heart pounded in my chest as I whizzed past house. A familiar street came to view. I closed my eyes waiting to be swallowed by Mama's blackhole but nothing happened. I opened my eyes. I was back in my institute, my journal the one Mama had given me in my hand, I was busy writing something, it was blurry to see but I kept writing anyways.
Someone sat next to me. His face was a blur as well.
You journal? That's silly"
His laugh made my jaw tick, here we go again with people telling me the things I enjoy doing are 'Childish' or 'Silly'.
I closed the book and stood up, my hair coming undone as the band snapped. Great, just great.
My phone buzzed as I walked away, my name being yelled by the prick behind me.
The screen read 'Eudora'. I hesitated before picking and placed it next to my ear waiting for her to speak. I wish I didn't...pick up the phone.
I couldn't control my actions. I didn't understand why.
As my finger met the answer button. Eudora's crying voice came through.
Though her screams I made out
Mama.
