Miss Anna's Lessons (I)

Slayers Academy Training field , 

 All of the students were lying on the ground, while the few who remained were now looking at her in fear. Looking at those who were lying on the ground in with blood flowing from their mouths, some of them were trembling uncontrollably.

" Wait ! " a loud shout drew everyone's attention.

" Miss Anna, Can I not attack you... I mean not all things should be settled through violence , how about we talk things out " 

Jason suddenly said while raising up his hands

"What ?" he exclaimed when he saw everyone looking at him with a strange expression, " Violence is not an option " he said with a pacifist expression.

" So what do you think Miss ? " Jason asked, Anna looked at this student with an amused smile, that suddenly disappeared as she pointed her bow at him.

" So what do you think ?" she asked back. Jason's expression turned sour for a moment then he smiled, yes he smiled triumphantly. Anna suddenly felt something was wrong.

"I think my bro Damien is gonna kick your ass ". Anna suddenly turned to see a figure had appeared in midair while she was distracted by Jason.

The figure was naturally Damien who had his sword raised above him. 

He had asked Jason to distract Instructor Anna for this moment, a bow was a lone ranged weapon, however in close combat it was useless all he needed was to get close to Miss Anna and victory would be his.

At least that what he planned , but sometimes things don't go as planned.

Before his sword could land on its target, Anna pulled an arrow from her quiver with incredible reflexes.She thrust the arrow at Damien's left eye. 

"This woman is crazy " He thought halting his attack, but he realized he would not be able to stop the arrow from meeting his eye in time, he closed his eyes reflexively.

But the blow to his eye never he came, he opened his eyes only to see kick heading for him. With a bang, the foot connected with his ribs sending him flying. 

He fell with a thud several meters away. 

" You okay " Jason asked 

 "Yeah" Damien replied while standing up with his hands on his ribs.

" Not bad you two the only reason it failed was because you were up against me ,everyone remember not everything is about direct confrontation, if the Otherworld beast is too strong for you , you need to come up with schemes ,sneak attacks, traps ,anything you can come up with, use your brains to kill them , always remember that there are threats that can be resolved with your brains when your strength is not enough " remarked Anna 

"Alright let's continue " she added putting her hand on her quivers. 

All hell broke loose as everyone started to attack again, however this time their attacks were more coordinated than before but Anna resolved them easily with her arrows all the same.

Everyone was annoyed now , a class of about thirty people were struggling to hold their own against a single person who was by the way not even using half her power, the depressing thing was that they had not even landed a single blow but in just seconds after the battle began, their numbers had been reduced by more than half. 

A barrage of attacks flew towards her once again, she released a few arrows blasting away the attacks, however suddenly she saw a short arrow covered in golden light that had managed to fly past her own arrows heading towards her.

To be precise the short arrow was not an actual arrow but a bolt the kind that was shot from a crossbow.

" As expected from a Velina " Anna thought but : " That is not enough for me ". She covered her bow in her force energy and used it to slammed it against the incoming bolt.

With a thud the bolt was embedded in the ground. However Anna's eyes widened in surprise because hidden behind the first bolt was another bolt. She realized what had happened. Sara had shot two bolts but they had been shot in a straight line and from the angle Anna was it created an illusion that there was only one bolt, in a simple terms she had hidden a second bolt behind the first. 

" Damn, who knew kids could be so scheming " She thought but at the same time , without caring for her image she dropped on the ground. The bolt whistled past her head. 

Seeing this everyone cheered up a little, it seemed that the instructor was not unbeatable as they thought.

Anna didn't know whether to cry or laugh , her own advice had been immediately used against her, she was quite annoyed, as a powerful Rank 5 slayer even if she was using about 30 % of her power, some rankless students should not have been able to make her drop to the ground to dodge an attack.

She took on her annoyance on a guy who was slashing down on her with a saber, she lashed out with the wider side of her bow, slapping him away.

With a pig like scream the guy was sent flying across the field. Everyone paused for a second, observing a moment of silence for the unlucky guy. Then they continued attacking , like a lizard Anna rolled around nimbly on the ground .

She rolled away from the encirclement, then she jumped unto her feet. 

At the same moment , a red haired girl appeared while Anna was jumping on her feet, It was Aylen. Aylen's appearance was very timely as she appeared while Anna was off her feet, leaving her totally defense. Why you ask, go and ask your physics teacher.

Anyways Aylen's appearance was timed. Her huge scythe was already slashing down on Anna covered in a green light. Anna sighed and as if in defiance of physics she managed to move her legs to meet the attack in midair.

Borrowing the power from Aylen's attack she let herself be blasted away and landed a few meters away.

" My dear niece , just when i was thinking about when you were gonna act " Anna said. " Come let me test how well you have grown " 

Aylen smiled wrly, she didn't think , she could take down her aunt with that attack.

" Woosh " Aylen was like a wind god as she shot towards her aunt. Anna shot several arrows at Aylen, however several bolts flew from Velina's crossbow knocking down those arrows before they got even closer to her.

Aylen arrived before her aunt her scythe dancing expertly in her hand, she was like a battle goddess as she fought close combat with her aunt.

Anna was casually using her longbow to block the scythe's attack ..it seemed only someone from Valehart could rival another valehart in combat. Aylen seemed to be winning the fight as she continiously pushed Anna backwards with her attacks , however it was also because Sara was harassing her from the side. Whenever Anna tried to attack Aylen ,

Sara took advantage firing the bolts at her , and those bolts were targeted towards places like her armpits and eyes, so she had no choice but to stop and deal with the annoying bolts.

" How come a girl from the royal family is so sinister ?" Anna thought guarding against the bolts.

What was a teacher versus Class battle had turned into a family scuffle of an aunt and her niece, but it was not for long, a powerful cross shaped red force energy appeared from her left , behind the attack was Jason who used his most powerful attack from the beginning, it was even quite bigger than the one he used against Damien.

" Not bad, but I..." she was about to say something when she realized beneath Aylen who was attacking with her scythe from midair, Damien had silently appeared his center of gravity lowered as he drew his sword.

" How is he still able to stand after taking my attack " she marveled at Damien's endurance, however in such a dire situation she was calm, in a second her speed increased and like a phantom, she slammed her bow into Aylen's scythe , making it to clash against a stealthy bolt from Sara.

Then she knelt, turned and shot an arrow at Jason's direction , all of this insane took her less than a second, turning to Damien, she saw him pulling up his sword halfway from the sheath.

She stabbed a blunt arrow at him, everything was still within her calculations, however she failed to calculate one thing, the power of Damien's force skill.

Invincible Sword Skill: SWORD DRAW

When the sword was pulled out of its sheath it seemed to possess a life of its own as it let out a metallic cry and slashed cleanly through the incoming arrow, then continued forward .

Anna was surprised but she managed to bring the bow before. There was a mighty gale as sword met bow and Anna was sent several steps back. She felt something sweet in her mouth and immediately knew it was blood ,she swallowed and got up. To think she had been injured by some kids

"We won ...we won" the students were cheering .

Anna smiled sweetly.

" I never said you would win if you managed to hit me, did I ? " she suddenly asked.

Everyone was quite. Half an hour later a lone female figure was standing in the training field, sprawled on the ground around her were Damien and the rest.

Anna : This is more like it 

Everyone : ....
