"Callie, it's not wise to go home by yourself. You should remain in the hospital for further monitoring," Robin advised.
I responded with a cold refusal. "No thanks. I can manage on my own."
Robin's face briefly showed signs of pain, but he quickly softened his voice. "Callie, I'm concerned about you. Please don't be angry with me, alright?"
His words only made me turn and scowl at him. "Do you even understand why that car struck me?"
He appeared puzzled. "I've already initiated legal action against the driver."
"What about Caitline? The one responsible for this whole mess—is she going to escape consequences?"
He stood motionless, his expression frozen as if shocked, before firmly grasping my hand. "I...I wasn't aware of that," he said nervously. "I'll investigate it. Just give me some time, please."
Tired of his explanations, I simply stated, "Is that so? Well, you'd better."
Then I added harshly, "Now leave. I don't want to see you anymore."
