Chapter 6

Darren's prolonged absence had caused many to forget him, resulting in a sparsely attended wedding. Surprisingly, Juan, Ned, and I managed to secure front-row seats.

During the ceremony, Darren took control of the microphone from the officiant, expressing his deep love and recounting the emotional journey he and Vivie had shared. His recollection was remarkably detailed.

As I sat listening, my eyes welled up. Some of the memories he mentioned were from the time we were together.

In our college days, Darren was not only handsome but also rich and talented - the perfect embodiment of a romantic novel's hero. I, however, wasn't exactly the ideal match for him.

While his admirers flocked around him, I maintained a cool demeanor, often engaging in arguments whenever we crossed paths.

Throughout those four years, our sole moment of harmony occurred during a heavy downpour. His father's birthday celebration prompted an invitation for both of us to join them for dinner.
