Chapter 12

After waiting for a while, it was finally time for me to take the practical exam.

I left all unnecessary items to the exam staff such as my cell phone. The staff searched every part of my body.

All examinees who were about to enter the exam arena were searched. This is so that no examinee reads magic enhancing potions, stamina, and even forbidden potions. To avoid any cheating by the examinees. They are only allowed to bring magic items when taking the exam. And I brought my Long Feng Jian sword.

Stepping onto the exam field, I looked around, a large square-shaped field. In the center was a man standing like he was the exam proctor. That person was wearing a black robe and glasses, looking at the two of us one by one from afar.

And from a distance I could see my opponent walking to the center of the field. Following his steps to the center of the field, I also walked to the center of the field. We both stopped at a line on either side and looked at each other. I looked at her with a calm face.

Her bright blue eyes glittered like night stars and the atmosphere around her suggested intelligence and modesty.

Her thin, regular eyebrows added to the perfection of her face. Her skin was pure white with a red tinge to her cheeks, indicating health and natural beauty. Looking from my perspective her body was slightly shorter than mine, but for a girl she was already among the tallest. And with her slender and elegant posture, she looks like a model.

Her body wrapped in a blue blazer with a light brown plaid skirt that was just above the knee gave a sense of elegance and femininity. Her slender and shapely legs were wrapped in white stockings, accentuated by elegant black high heels. And there was a sword sheathed at her waist.

The girl moved gracefully, showing confidence and modesty. Her sweet smile captivated everyone.

"I'll explain this briefly."

Hearing the words of the invigilator, snapped me out of my reverie.

I was completely captivated by her beauty, if I wasn't taking an exam, I would have enjoyed looking at her.

The invigilator stood between us, and gave instructions.

"Examinees! This is a practical exam. The purpose of this exam is not about winning, but rather to demonstrate your skill, ingenuity, discipline, ability to read your opponent, assess the situation, and decision-making. We will judge overall whether or not you are worthy of entering the academy. So, be fair and uphold the Knight's honor!"

Hearing the superintendent's words, we both put on serious faces. In front of me, there were no more sweet expressions and beautiful smiles, there was only a wary face looking at the enemy.

I also looked at his face with a serious expression, no more calm face.

"Are you ready?"

"Ready!"

"Ready!"

We both answered with a nod, our eyes scanning each other.

My hand was ready to grip my sword, and so was her. Her fingers prepared to touch the hilt of his sword.

The overseer raised his right hand, and gave his signal.

"Begin!"

Instantly the overseer backed away, killing both of us.

I moved first, drawing my sword and swinging. Moving forward, my sword went full speed in a horizontal swing with a sharp gust of wind straight for Luna's abdomen.

However, Luna skillfully twisted her body to the side, dodging the attack perfectly unharmed. Her hand held the hilt of the sword.

"A quick initial attack, but not enough to hurt me."

"Is that so?"

She smiled with a faint smile on her face.

I must be vigilant, must not let my guard down. This opponent of mine is far experienced and underestimates me, hence I must face him earnestly.

I flowed magic energy, into my pad. I swung my sword, with a crossed slash. My slash created a storm wave that headed straight for Luna.

Luna drew her sword from her waist and parried my attack using her sword. She created a halo using her sword. The halo covered her from above and below from my attack. Blocking the slash of my stave wave, it pushed her back leaving a trace of her arena. Her smiling face turned serious.

The fight became more heated. We both exchanged attacks offensively. I increased the intensity of my attacks.

"Wind Slash."

I continued to swing my sword which I infused with magic energy to create storm waves. My sword swings slammed all around the arena. But my attacks had no effect against Luna.

She kept dodging my attacks and parrying what she could sufficiently. If this continued, it was only a matter of time before I ran out of magic energy and stamina.

"You're really relying on your raw power."

Luna jumped into the air towards me. She raised her sword up and swung it at me. The sword emitted light like a full moon.

"Lunar Strike."

I raised my sword and parried his strike. Our two swords met and splashed a wave of magic energy between us.

We looked at each other with serious faces. I pushed Luna back with my magic energy. Luna didn't lose her balance though and landed correctly.

"I admit you have great strength, but unfortunately you can't utilize it well."

I ground my teeth. What she said was not wrong.

I swung my sword again to create a stormy wave. As Luna focused on deflecting my attack, I moved forward at full speed aiming my sword straight at Luna's chest. Surprised by the sudden attack, Luna, with her quick reflexes, managed to parry my sword strike. In trying to parry my sword attack, the storm surge I unleashed hit her body.

"Guhh!!!"

Stifling a groan, she knelt down on one leg.

I jumped back, away from her. Luna got back up and glared at me.

Luna raised her sword high, then the blade emitted the bright light of the full moon. The bright light was so dazzling that it blinded my vision for a moment.

"Crescent Moon Blast."

Luna swung her sword at me. Not intimidated by the attack, I swung my sword to make a slash that was filled with a lot of magic energy.

"Gale strike."

Our two attacks collided, making sparks of moonlight and wind explode between us. Waves of magic energy filled the arena and made the arena shake.
