Chapter 8

Alec eyed him suspiciously.

Realizing he wouldn't let me leave without hearing him out, I reluctantly agreed, "Fine, we can go to the pack house."

His expression brightened as he responded, "Excellent, let's head over."

I turned and started walking towards the pack house, with the two of them trailing behind me.

Upon arrival, I made my way to the living room, relieved to find it empty.

Aaron settled on the sofa and gestured to the spot next to him, saying, "Have a seat. We need to talk."

Instead, I chose one of the three armchairs facing him, with a coffee table between us.

I was glad Alec didn't join us, as I didn't want to explain Aaron's presence.

"You're wearing cosmetics. You never did that for me," Aaron remarked, his gaze fixed on me.

He'd always discouraged me from using makeup, claiming to prefer my natural appearance. Now he was criticizing me for not wearing it for him.

Since our mate bond was broken, I felt free to do as I pleased.
