A conversation between friends

Sylphie lowered her head, her voice coming out as a whisper. "I thought you hated me..."

Kael blinked, surprised by the confession, but soon a gentle smile formed on his lips. "How could I hate the first person who ever taught me magic?"

She lifted her eyes to him, hesitant, and he took the opportunity to continue:

"Besides..." He tilted his head slightly, his gaze gaining a playful glint. "You've gotten way too cute for me to hate. That would be a sin."

Sylphie froze.

Her face instantly caught fire, and she averted her gaze so fast it looked as if her life depended on it.

"I-I'm not cute..." she mumbled, fidgeting with the tips of her own hair, trying to compose herself.

Kael only chuckled softly, satisfied with her reaction.

After a few seconds, Sylphie took a deep breath and murmured:

"Sorry… I got jealous of that girl..." she confessed, nervously intertwining her fingers. "I don't want you to be mad at me..."
