Dear Diary,
I feel like I'm living in a whirlwind. Things have escalated so quickly that I almost can't keep up with them. So, here's what happened:
It all started with the school trip. Everyone was excited, and there was this buzz in the air. It was supposed to be a fun, relaxed time, but when Min-jun asked me to meet him by the lake, I knew something important was going to happen.
He looked nervous, more nervous than I've ever seen him. His usual calm and collected demeanor was nowhere to be found. I had a mix of excitement and anxiety bubbling up inside me as I walked towards him.
"Eun-ji," he began, his voice unusually soft, "there's something I've been wanting to tell you for a while now."
My heart pounded in my chest. This was it. The moment I'd been waiting for. Was he going to say he loved me?
"I... I've been thinking a lot about us," Min-jun continued. "I really like you, Eun-ji. I think I've liked you for a long time, but I've been afraid to say it."
The world stopped for a second. My brain couldn't process what he was saying. Was this real? Was Min-jun telling me he liked me?
Before I could respond, he stepped closer, his hand reaching for mine, and the next thing I knew, he kissed me. It was gentle, like he was testing the waters, and I responded instantly, as if my heart and mind were finally in sync with the feelings I'd been trying to hide for so long.
When we pulled away, I couldn't stop smiling. He was smiling too, though it was a bit shy.
"You've made me so happy," I whispered, feeling a warmth in my chest I couldn't quite explain.
But just as I was about to say more, a voice interrupted us. It was Hye-jin, calling my name from a distance. I turned around to see her running toward us, her face lit up with excitement.
"Eun-ji, Min-jun! You guys are... oh my gosh!" She squealed, her eyes wide with joy. "I knew it! I knew something was going on between you two!"
Min-jun laughed, his arm around my shoulders, and I felt my face turn pink.
"I guess it's official now," he said with a grin.
Hye-jin gave me a teasing look. "Finally! I was getting tired of watching you two dance around each other."
It was a relief, honestly. I couldn't keep hiding my feelings, and neither could Min-jun. Everything felt right.
The rest of the trip went by in a blur. I couldn't stop thinking about Min-jun, about the kiss, about what it all meant. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized that I wasn't scared anymore. This was real. And I was ready for whatever came next.
At the end of the trip, when everyone was getting ready to go back home, Min-jun took my hand in his again. "I'm glad we finally talked about this," he said softly. "I want to be with you, Eun-ji. For real."
I squeezed his hand, my heart full. "I want that too, Min-jun."
And just like that, everything changed. No more confusion. No more hiding. Just us.
Later that night, as I lay in bed, I thought about how far I'd come. A year ago, I never would have imagined that I'd be here—holding hands with the guy I liked, ready to step into a new chapter of my life with him.
But here I am. And I couldn't be happier.
Love,
Eun-ji
