"What do you mean I'm naked!" Nick screamed as he hurried to cover his dragon, wondering when he fell under the illusion of being clothed. Still... they felt so real...
Juliana blushed, quickly realizing her mistake. "Ahh..."
Her normal abrasive attitude fell with embarrassment. Falling to her old habit of twirling her hair when anxious, she gasped as her fingers accidentally rubbed Nick's abs.
'So chiseled...' She thought for a second before mentally shaking her head.
'Too soft! How can he respect you!'
Collecting herself in an experienced manner, she blurted out, "I didn't mean it like that, idiot! I meant you have no armor so we should get some!"
Oh.
Armor.
Chuckling, Nick raised his hand to the backside of his head, accidentally brushing it against her mountain as he did so. "Yeah, that makes more sense."
It would be so embarrassing for a girl to see him naked!
...
--(12 D-Rank Goblins Detected)--
'These ones are stronger than the wolves and earlier goblins. Still, they should be weaker than us, so we'll be safe.'
Nick stole a glance to the other side of the camp, where Juliana was hiding.
They found the goblin outpost quite easily after Juliana had mentioned it. All they had to do was follow the stench of burning wolves.
The camp was a pretty rudimentary setup, just a bunch of 6-foot-tall sticks embedded in the ground and strung together by some kind of wrapping. Even though the camp was only 30 feet wide and 40 feet long, as well as filled with tents, they still felt comfortable enough to have a large fire.
Really, all he probably had to do was send a slash with his sword and have the shockwave set the camp ablaze. Sadly, he didn't think he'd get the experience points if he did that.
He had suggested for Juliana to set the camp ablaze with her lightning, but she only looked at him confused. After a few moments, she said, "Why would my lightning burn the wood?"
In his world, he was pretty sure lightning could burn trees. Then again, this wasn't his world. Well, more accurately the one he knew.
Maybe trees didn't get scorched by lightning here. Or maybe Juliana was confined by video game logic unlike him.
Either way, this allowed him to have fun clearing the outpost. Judging by what Juliana had said about collecting gold and armor, the tutorial had forcibly stopped him from collecting loot. When he kills goblins now, he should be able to get some relatively nice items for his level.
'Maybe even an armor version of the [Fang of Finality]? That isn't too greedy, is it?'
No, it wasn't. He had to suffer through dying and goblins and finding a hot girl who does nothing but beat him up. The least this game could offer was omnipotence.
'First, the goblins.' Focusing on the task at hand, he watched their guard patterns.
There was only one opening to the camp, and it was surrounded by a barricade of spikes embedded into the ground–Cheval De Frises. This was to make it harder to infiltrate the camp.
However, he didn't even need to do that to get information. Closing his eyes, he used his first perk of Divinity, [Farseeing Eye].
His vision darkened as it traveled through the air like a small, black wisp. The wisp was completely invisible to the goblins as it darted between their weapons.
2 out front.
2 sleeping.
3 overhead, equipped with bows.
3 at the campfire, tending to the wolf.
2 at the back dueling, much to the dismay of their fellow soldiers.
[Weapon Status discovered]
[5 common weapons, 5 uncommon weapons, 2 rare weapons]
Hmm.
This was interesting.
Thinking about his [Fang of Finality], he realized it didn't have any kind of ranking like that. But it did have those Seals of Annihilation though... so maybe it surpassed such a thing as ranks?
It felt too powerful to be another slight from the game. So, he couldn't see its lack of a rank meaning the weapon wasn't strong.
'We'll see when I unlock the first seal of Annihilation.'
[Enemies' HP uncovered]
[Goblin warriors: 40/40; Goblin archers: 25/25]
Nick grinned, knowing his plan was going to work even easier. It really should be nothing for Juliana to kill all the archers very quickly.
Her first active dealt a large enough aoe to hit the 2 on the right at once, and its damage was equal to 150 percent of her intelligence, which would be 1.5x30 or 45 damage. More than enough to one-shot them, even considering defense.
All she had to do was wait for his signal.
The other archer was on the other side of the wall, but as long as he kept it in mind he'd be fine. Turning to the 2 guards looking over the front of the camp, his plan practically formed itself.
He would slice their heads off, signaling to Juliana to kill the 2 archers. The third one would come to check what was going on, but he'd leave it for Juliana.
If he was lucky, he could kill 5 of the 7 other goblins in one hit as well. 3 of them were sitting by the campfire, so they would be slow arming themselves. By the time he entered the camp, it would be likely that they just stood up.
The 2 goblins dueling behind them should be much more active and ready to run into the fray. That would essentially put them all in a line. Perfect for an [Emperor's Slash] to enforce his rule.
Then all that would be left at that point would be 2 sleepy goblins. Another [Emperor's Slash] and they'd die.
'I better get a full set of max gear as well as multiple level-ups.' Nick grinned even though he knew such wishful thinking wouldn't be fulfilled.
Without wasting any more time, he leaped into the battlefield, swinging the [Fang of Finality] as he coursed through the air. Goblin heads jumped into the air as the system chimed in celebration.

'It equipped automatically, huh? After this battle, I should probably check my equipment slots.'
Goblin screams roared from the top of the wall as 2 of them blew up from the inside, instantly killed by Juliana's active skill [Tempest's Rage].
[Valkyrie Experience gained: 100]
[Experience until next rank: 550/10,000]
Nice.
As he expected, the goblins tending to the fire were slow to get up and the 2 dueling goblins were quick to run into the battle.
[Emperor's Slash]
Their blood flew into the air before falling to the fire, instantly dousing it. Nick sighed as he wanted to eat some wolf after they cleared the outpost.
"Oh well, it can't be helped. They were just that weak."
The sounds of a final archer's scream combined with the rustling of 2 goblins waking up. A second later they were resting again.

'It's faster. Still, not close to level 50.'
[D-Rank Goblin archer killed by Juliana]

The good news was that they cleared this place very quickly, just like he figured. Even if the dungeons in the city were a bit harder, if they gave these kinds of rewards without much more hassle then he could really start grinding.
