Of course, Nick couldn't really see the consequences of his actions. All he knew was whatever his imagination conjured for him, as he still could not see through the darkness.
Moving in the direction of Elise's voice, he said, "Well, I got the necromancer to show his ugly face. Are you really complaining about that?"

To his surprise, her voice was actually right next to him. His sense of direction was greatly improving. A small comfort, maybe.
