An entire life flashes through the victim's eyes—their life. The ups and downs, successes and struggles. Their achievements clash with their regrets as if being judged.
Was their life lived well or in vain?
Did they live up to their potential or not?
The ones they left behind... would they be ok?
Did they do enough?
Nick gritted his teeth as he held his Fang tightly. Steadying his vision, Nick watched as the beast made its next advance. A flash of dark red fur and metallic claws lunged, faster than lightning.
Once again, he couldn't dodge. Even as he placed all of his focus into dodging, he couldn't.
A faint sound of his Fang clattering against the ground could somehow be heard even as he slammed into the wall. His back spasmed against the impact as his ears started ringing.
