Chapter 6

HAZEL'S POV~

"Warning..."

I was panicking, my hands were sweaty and I could barely think straight. I quickly stood up and excused myself, I didn't know where I was going I just wandered around the big house until stepped out to a balcony. It was connected to a lawn that led to a beautiful garden, I sat on a bench to enjoy the cool breeze.

The place was serene and an escape from all that madness inside. I can't believe this is my life now. I did my best to avoid unnecessary drama keeping to myself and taking care of my situation. Yet here I was, a fiancee to an arrogant asshole that didn't care about anything but himself and his opinions. The most annoying part of it all was that there was a little part of me that loved it, that has already accepted this new environment, these new people.

The truth was, I didn't even know why I was still here, I was not even needed yet he still keeps me around and I hate that I let him. I let him control my life, my decisions, and my emotions, I kept allowing him to hurt me. I keep allowing myself to fall for him even when I know I will only get hurt. I mean he kissed me and ignored me for a whole month after that without an apology or explanation. It's like I am that little girl over again, the one that allowed herself to fall easily, trust easily, the one that believed there was a place for her. I huffed in frustration. I can't afford to be weak, I can't let my guard down not now not ever.

I didn't notice that Dimitri had joined me until he sat beside me on the bench. He glanced at me meeting my gaze with a smile on his lips. He then pulled out a packet of cigarettes offering one to me which I turned down. He lighted the one between his lips puffing out smoke.

"I know you aren't engaged," he said after some moments of silence. I glanced back at him. "I see the way you look at him, you both can't stand each other," he blew out another smoke smirking at me.

"If you know why then did you say that earlier?"

"To punish, Matteo," he replied shrugging like it wasn't a big deal.

"What?" I fumed "You said to punish Matteo."

" Yes, Hazel keep up," he remarked.

"I thought you are smart?" I shot him a dirty look offended by his statement.

"I didn't know you were such a smart mouth," he smiled holding both hands to his chest with a pout on his lips. "You hurt me, hon."

"Don't call me that." I snapped unamused. "You know you can punish Matteo without involving me right? You can either run him over. " I suggested.

" Nah, he is constantly with security."

"Or poison him."

"That's too boring."

" You can even stab him," he didn't reply.

"Oh, I know what you will do," I smiled cheekily. "You can spike his drink and make him purge to death. Maybe all that bad energy he carries around will finally be flushed down the drain." He burst into a fit of laughter throwing down the cigarette he was holding.

"Y-you are a very dangerous woman!" he pointed at me still smiling. I shrugged my shoulders innocently.

"Don't tell me that's not a good idea. If we team up we can play it off. " I grinned.

"You are the only other person that hates him as much as I do."

"I don't think so darling," he shook his head. "There are many people out there who will jump up at the idea of killing him and purging him to death will probably be the least way to do that," he picked out something from my hair before blowing it off.

"Some might want to give him a very painful slow death and they will do it in unthinkable ways," I shivered at the thought.

"I'm not surprised there, he looks like someone who has spent his whole life gathering more foes than friends,"

"You don't know him do you?" Dimitri asked with a serious tone. "You don't know what all that talk about family in the living room was about?" I kept silent for some time contemplating an answer.

"I'm not sure, I mean I have my guesses but I don't know if they are right," I replied shrugging. His lips pulled up at my answer.

"Then why don't you ask him? You need to know whatever you are getting yourself into before you get hurt."

"Tell me then." I urged. "Why don't you tell if you care as you claim to?"

"Oh darling, I think you are mistaken," he had a fake smile that didn't reach his eyes. I watched as he changed into a completely different person the opposite of the person I was discussing Matteo's death ideas with. "I don't care, I don't care about anyone. I am just giving you a heads up, take it as a warning for what's to come," he finished. I watched as he stood up and turned to go but paused as he locked eyes with something behind me, before I could turn to see what he was staring at he leaned down and grabbed my face dangerously close to his.

"Don't say I didn't warn you," he whispered before stepping back. A movement caught my eye, it was Matteo storming over to us. His expression alone made me draw out a tired groan from me.

"What are doing out here?" He asked ignoring a smirking Dimitri.

"Nothing." I shrugged standing up and dusting my hands. He grabbed my hand and began dragging me with him.

"Hey," Dimitri called holding my other hand. "I see you are still the same. Once a caveman always a caveman," he pointed at Matteo before separating my hand from his.

"Don't fucking test me now, Dimitri!" Matteo growled. "As you can see my fiancee and I are about to have a serious conversation alone," he emphasized the word alone.

"Fiancee? Really?" I could have sworn I didn't see a ring," he smirked at us. "Anyway I will leave you to your business," he patted Matteo's shoulder before walking off. We stared at him silently until he disappeared into the house.

"What were you doing with him?" Matteo asked between gritted teeth.

"As I said before, nothing," I glanced at him. "Anyway what are you doing here?"

"Why? You are not disrupted by your lovey-dovey moment?" He raised an eyebrow.

"Lovey-dovey? Psst! As if," I walked off. He followed closely behind me and just as I stepped into the house he grabbed my arm dragging me to God knows where. I followed him not wanting to protest.

We passed various maids and guards who greeted us with surprised and fearful looks. We came across a door and he pushed me into slamming the door behind him.

"What's your problem?" I hissed out rubbing the bruised spot from where he grabbed me. His eyes followed my actions, an emotion flashed in his eyes before it went away almost immediately.

"You. You are my problem. How dare you kiss another guy in public when I am your fiancée."

"Huh?" I was confused. "I didn't kiss anybody besides you seem to have forgotten that you are not my finance we are only pretending."

"Yeah and that's more reason why you shouldn't be kissing another man. What if someone had seen you? What if my dad saw you both?"

" I didn't kiss anyone!" I screamed out in frustration.

"For fuck's sake Hazel stop fucking lying. I saw you and Dimitri earlier!" he cursed. I stared at him before bursting into a fit of laughter.

"You... You saw me kiss Dimitri?" I laughed. "You don't know what you saw and even if we did, How is it any of your bus..." I didn't get to finish what I was saying before he pulled me close smashing his lips on mine.

I groaned into the kiss, his familiar soft lips moved angrily against mine stealing my breath. I don't know how long we stayed like that until I pulled away light-headed to catch my breath. He stared at me in wonder before pulling me back. We moved around sucking on each other's faces until I stumbled and fell on the bed. He came on top of me pushing a strand of my hair behind my ear.

"You are so annoyingly gorgeous, Fiore. I feel like kissing you to death," he bit his lip

"Then what's holding you back?" I smirked. I pushed my hands through his hair pulling him close as he groaned before capturing my lips into a fierce kiss.
